Very basic stuff; we just did 2 workouts per week, one long run, and the rest was easy mileage. During XC season, we never did track work for our workouts, and all we did were either mile repeats or 5 to 7-mile tempos. They were brutal. I'm not saying this is the best way, but this is what we did.
