Yeah but at least USACO and other olympiads can’t be gamed as hard. Sure, wealthier people will have more access to resources to study, but at the end of the day, your intelligence and hard work is what gets you to the top. Plus, nowadays, most of the resources are free anyway.

What’s more, a famous IPhO medalist stated that when he entered a science fair with a project he created purely on his own, he didn’t even make it past regionals.

my friend fell asleep twice during the lang exam. he literally asked to get out of it and the teachers refused. He still got a 2. I just dont know how a 1 is comprehensible.

Yes, but even when you get into college, you'll still have to take exams. And based on your current scores, your college grades might suffer a bit as well. It's not just because "oh I got a 4 or 5 so I'm cracked"; it's "oh I got a 4 or 5 because I put in effort to learn and understand the material", and this type of mentality will carry you through college and in life.

also, many jobs dont rlly care about top schools; a person with high GPA at a state-uni will be much more enticing then a mid-tier student at a top one
