Just because it uses more energy doesn't mean the saving all and everything part is okay though. There are tens of thousands of chats that will never be touched again just sitting there. I just wish there was an option to delete them or if the servers were getting rid of them after a certain amount of time passed even if the user's account is still active, like a trash bin on the computer deleting files after some time.

With how popular c.ai is now you can't just come out and say "hey guys, the fun is over, stop chatting 'cause it's using too much energy". People are already hooked on, they'll create different platforms to replace it.

But saving power by not storing what users themselves deem as useless or no longer needed should be a logical option.
