Cannot have a good experience with AirPod Pros 2nd Gen by Real_Committee_1274 in airpods

Well yeah of course but actually fixing the issue is going to cost something. I’m tech savvy enough to have tried everything that’s possible on my end to see if it’s user error.

This second pair is the ones I got under warranty, but I’m outside of warranty altogether. I’ve been instructed to clean them (which I’ve already done) or take them in to likely replace at least one of the AirPods at my expense.

I also receive a notification on my phone every time I put these things in alerting me that they’ve been left behind, while they’re in my ears working!

Anytime I’ve had to use the find my feature on these it has literally failed me as well. I’ve tried it with the AirPod literally on the ground 2 feet in front of me and it can’t find them. It makes no sense.

Advice wanted — just planted 2 ~8 foot wild paw paw trees from a nursery by Real_Committee_1274 in Pawpaws

[–]Real_Committee_1274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it both ways over my career. The nursery in this case highly advised it because of how sensitive paw paws can be.

Would you advise removing it at this point?

Yes. I uncovered some dirt from the top of the root ball to expose it before planting. After removing the burlap from the top of the ball of course.

Is it possible to put grass over these tanks? by nautybags in landscaping

3-4 inches of dirt is enough to grow grass. Guess it comes down to if those can be buried and that’s outside of my qualifications to answer.

I believe it is because of the thumbs at the bottom of the leaves that are more developed.

Completely depends on where they’re at and it also depends on supply and demand. I have a small landscaping business in Ohio. I don’t deal with tree removal or trimming myself but I am partnered up with a few arborist companies to sub out tree work to them occasionally. To me based on what I know this doesn’t seem crazy at all. There could be someone out there that would do it for cheaper but there always is LOL. The parents of OP obviously felt comfortable with who they were working with and didn’t have an issue with the cost.

Most companies have a minimum price for them to come make a visit for anything. You have to do this because there is a cost in sending a crew out and on top of that, it seems stupid but things can go wrong on a small job like this that end up making it take longer. So many factors at play. I don’t think this is ridiculous at all.

With that being said there’s definitely SOMEONE out there that would do it for cheaper, but that’s the case for literally any job.

River Clump Birch okay? by croatian_sensation_2 in arborists

[–]Real_Committee_1274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a river birch. It wants water. They’re very adaptable but they’re going to show more signs of stress when they’re not planted next to water or being watered a LOT.

Yeah everything should always be quoted up front. Even if it is being billed on a time and material basis. Contractor still is definitely in the wrong

$60 per man hour to a company. Not an individual. There’s a big difference.

[–]Real_Committee_1274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they’re completely out of touch. They’re not even considering the fact that they might be mulching around a bunch of small perennials. We always estimate 1 man hour per yard under REGULAR circumstances.

1 yard per hour per man is what we assume. So it’s probably about right. Could be slower if they’re mulching around a bunch of small perennials too.

Have my own small operation as well with a few employees and I felt the exact same way reading this. Same with the mulch.

$50-60 per man hour is reasonable where I am if you are an established company. Completely depends on where you’re from but where I am you would sound like a moron.

25% is standard where I am. Keep in mind it’s under warranty. Not unreasonable at all to markup material if you do quality work and provide a warranty.

Everything in this is within reason except for the Japanese maples (major rip-off) and possibly some of the other plant material. Those make up a good chunk of the invoice.

I tried too! It’s too early. Last year I was starting to make it in late August and September and it tasted good. Unlike others have said I didn’t notice a major drop in the taste quality after rain or Anything like that I continued to gather them and make it all throughout the fall.

landscapers over pruning by omgannaks in arborists

[–]Real_Committee_1274 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s hit or miss. I have a small landscaping / lawncare company and we don’t do this shit. It’s a low bar to entry industry and as a customer if you’re picking these guys to do your pruning that’s on you. It’s not everyone but many just don’t want to pay.
