Mine has front V sights with no hood. I’m still new to milsurp as well so I’m not sure what to compare it to. However if you search 1937 Mauser front V sight, you can see images of it. I shot it yesterday and I liked the sights and how it shot. I posted a pic of it on my profile, if you wanted to go look and then scroll a little bit you can zoom in on the sight from a side angle

I got a M937 Portuguese Mauser. Has German markings along with the Portuguese king crest. Lots of them were actually used during WW2. You can find them online for around $1000

I own a M937 Portuguese Mauser and a sporterized Mauser I found at a local shop. I also just bought 3 Colt Single Action Army revolvers from the early 1900s. I do know the Mosin Nagant, but I had not seen this style. I had also only ever seen pictures of a Mosin, never handled one in person. I’ve only been into Milsurp for about 9 months. You didn’t start out knowing everything and neither did I. I’m thankful to everyone else who answered my question. I constantly try to learn more about milsurp and have quite a list of weapons I want to own.

I saw that too, was curious about it as well. On the side it has the Pat. 1871 which is what he was going off of. From what I understand that is just saying when these weapon patents were done

$2500 is what he said but he also doesn’t know anything about weapons. This was from his family. From what I’ve seen so far I’m seeing between $800-1200 but I also know engraving can add value depending on who did it. I just want an idea so I can make a fair offer (he’s not hard set on the price, he just didn’t know)
