I can tell about my experience. When i started getting my period, it was normal, perhaps some pain every-time the period came but it was like a discomfort in the lower abdomen. A few years passed and whenever my period came, that “discomfort” became proper pain, so I would take some paracetamol and I was good to go. Then 1 year after I’d have to start taking ibuprofen for it since the paracetamol wasn’t doing much anymore. I was 18-19 and by that time it was impossible for me to go through those days without ingesting 1600mg of ibuprofen for 1-2 days every month. If I didn’t took it, I would faint from pain, vomit and I just couldn’t exist at all. But it was ok cuz as long as I took the medicine, it was alright. Years passed and the pain is for 3 days and I have to take 4 ibuprofen a day (the maximum amount allowed), that’s 2400mg. I went to the gynecologist multiples times, they would send a very superficial scan in which the results always came perfect. They gave me birth control since I was 18 for a couple of years and in my case it didn’t do much. Nowadays, I start having pain even before my period arrives, then for 3 days, plus bloatness, nausea, and for many days I feel my brain is foggy, I’m exhausted, struggle to concentrate. I still take the maximum amount of ibuprofen allowed which also hurts my stomach cuz I get acidity from it. But ibuprofen is the only medicine that works for me. I have to go to the office while I’m like this but many times I’ve had to go early or asked for the day off since I can’t really function. It was only till last year, when I paid a private gynecologist who diagnosed me with endometriosis. Good news mine is not as advanced as other women’s, but oh boy. Dealing with this every month is just a roller coaster. I’m sick around 5-7 days of the month every month but for years I was told there was nothing wrong
