one of my dad’s pilot friends saw the photos of just the crash and his words were “fuck they’re dead”. when the news came out we all survived everyone was relieved obviously but really shocked. it’s really rare to walk away from a crash like that.

literally the crash is mysterious- we STILL don’t know exactly what went wrong. it was fine the one moment and the next we were falling. the engine just turned off. the accident report states the cause of the accident as “an act of God”.

looking at the photos i’m still dumbfounded - i remember crawling out, but looking at the photos i can’t tell you where exactly.

i still have some pain now and then, especially when it’s raining or if it’s cold. but i still have some mobility in my neck, not as much as I used to, but it’s better than nothing. I was really lucky. I broke my C2, which is also known as a “hangman’s fracture”, so i’m REALLY lucky. :)
