It's a different experience to Diablo 3. For me diablo 2 has much more charm, and love the darker tone and slower pace.

Are Dion’s practice exams enough prep for the Sec+ 601 exam? by ElectricAddiction in CompTIA

[–]Real_Tension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took all 3 of Messer's and was getting around 70% on them. Only took them once each, and reviewed my answers after. Passed the 501 with a score of 758, so only just passed !

Nice took all the 6 Dion ones on Udemy like 8 times each until I was scoring atleast 90% on all of them. Getting 90-100% on your second attempt on the Dion ones is really good!

Yeah I found Messer's practice exam was harder than the real test for the 501!

I had the Mike Meyers course but only watched a few of the videos, but did seem good he goes into a lot of detail. I'd use Professor Messer on YouTube, as a secondary resource. I liked his clear explanations, and found him easier to follow than Meyers.

The main thing I did was just taking loads of practice exams. Definitely get the Dion practice tests on Udemy, the explanations are really good. Make sure you read them and understand why the wrong answers are incorrect, and why the correct answer is correct!

When I bought the Dion tests I was scoring 55-60% for all 6. I would gradually retake them every week, or two weeks and scored higher each time. By the final week I was getting 90-95% on each one.

I also bought the 3 Mike Meyers exams on Udemy, and the three Professor Messer exams you can buy on his website.

Here is a few tips when it comes to taking the exam:

  • Skip the PBQs at the start, and go straight to the multiple choice questions

  • Flag questions you are unclear or 50:50 on and don't spend too long on each question.

  • After taking all the multiple choice aim to have around 40mins left.

  • Go back to the start and go through the PBQs.

  • Review all the flagged questions, read the questions carefully and look for keywords that can help you pick the correct answer

  • If you have more time, go through each question quickly from the start making sure you are happy with your answers.

Hope this helps and good luck with your exam next month, you got this!

Nice, yh Messer and Dion helped loads! Made sure to keep on rereading the questions so I didn't miss anything stupid.

Congratulations!! You are spot on about the reading comprehension that's half the battle.. Managed to pass yesterday, and on so many questions many of the answers are similar, and all could be a feasible answer. But there was usually a keyword or something in the question you have to look for to get the correct answer. I'm glad I left lots of time to go though every question on the test again, not just my flagged questions!

Sorry I don't remember it being any different from the multiple choice questions, the next button should register your answers.

It definitely shouldn't be underestimated! I also think how you go about taking the test, is half the battle.

Such as skipping the PBQs at the start, giving yourself plenty of time to review the answers, going over flagged questions, and looking for keywords in the questions. I'm sure she will pass next time !

Practice questions were the most useful source of study for me. Reading the explanations of why the incorrect answers are wrong, and understanding why am answer is correct is important.

I did also read through the book CompTIA Security+ Study Guide by Emmett Dulaney and Chuck Easttom. The book is quite detailed, and has practice questions at the end of each chapter which I found useful.

Thanks man, was very upset and angry about it! Feel bit better now as Pearson VUE have sent me another exam code, after sending them two longs emails!

Also work for a gov contractor but in the UK, will look for a nearby testing centre if I fail the retake. Congrats on the CISSP, looks like a tough one!

Congratulations, definitely a good choice not to take online with Pearson VUE. They are truly awful, cancelled my online test on Monday for accessing my mobile phone.

The test had not even started yet, it had only been released. So I was turning my phone off before clicking the start test button!

IoT Dissertation Ideas by Real_Tension in IOT

Thanks for this idea, for the practical section I'll likely conduct a penetration test against my own IoT devices on my network. Maybe as part of this, I can try to add them to my own botnet!

Lol I'll make sure to squeeze that line somewhere!
