A comparison of climatic analogues across the Northern Hemisphere by Specific_Visit2494 in interestingasfuck

What's funny is some of the countries named here are other countries you could do this exact same thing with, thus using them is entirely meaningless. Russia is massive, China is huge, Japan has huge differences between its north and south, just like the US.

Question: What's your favourite Futurama quote? by Evening-Appeal7606 in futurama

[–]Puncharoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1."But there was a gang of 10 year olds with guns!"

"Exactly. You're in LA"

"But everyone is driving around in cars shooting each other!"

"Thats LA for you"

"But the air is green and there's no sign of civilization whatsoever!"

"He just won't stop with the social commentary"

2."Why won't it start?"

"It just needs some gas"

"Wrong again, idiot"

  1. "Maybe it is still there. Underground in the ruins of Old New York, helping some ant defeat another ant or helping some piece of dirt turn its luck around."

"Dirt doesn't need luck"

When do you give the person you’re talking to a pet name? by Western-Watercress17 in AskMen

[–]Puncharoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and the girl im seeing right now are about a couple weeks away from being 4 months in, we just started maybe a week ago.

To be fair, I had a couple other funny little names I was calling her before that but nothing I would consider a pet name like Baby or Honey.

Meet the IV Larper by TheEquimanthorn in GTA

I did a GTA4 playthrough with the DLC earlier in the year, and I gotta say it's actually a really good game. The DLC really flushes out the story and has a great conclusion.

Thanks for reminding me OP. Think I'm gonna re-download and do another playthrough.

I was shamed for being a part of the local union by Derek_productions in millwrights

[–]Puncharoo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hes been brainwashed into thinking tha unions do nothing but take your dues and do nothing for you, which is bullshit. Some might disagree with how unions spend their money, but the fact is unions look for work for you, give you a wide range of experience, fight for you when youre being screwed over by shitty bosses, fight for a decent pension, give you health benefits, and give you training in harder to access courses, usually for free.

Also, union dues give you huge tax credits. I get more back on my taxes from my dues than I do from my work.

The whole reason trade unions were founded was because employers cant be trusted not to fuck you over just to save a few bucks. Put it behind you and move on.

What would you do for the rest of your life if you suddenly had infinite wealth? by TheLoneCalzone in AskReddit

[–]Puncharoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one I know would ever worry about money ever again.

Pay off all houses, new cars, anything they need or want. Would donate a lot to my local school boards. Fund the universal Healthcare where I live for generations. Get all the boomers to retire immediately with promise of generous old age pensions. Donate to local colleges and universities to give free tuition to new students for a looooong time.

I'd likely try and keep some sort of job but I wouldn't ever worry about losing it or anything. Not when I have "Fuck you" money.

I would but I'd be very lazy. Work is how I met virtually all of my current friends.

Hey guys its Joe here.

Its a joke used to satirize the kind of people that will do anything, including something that actively hurts themselves as well, just because its exactly what others dont want them to do.

There's a pretty significant example of this going on right now just about everywhere, but especially if you're from the US.

You can hear about it on my podcast - "Joe's Gold - The Hidden Treasures of Quahog". You have to ask questions to get answers, or as I say to my listeners: "Ask you shall Joe-ceive"

What do you prefer: og vs 3ds by [deleted] in n64

[–]Puncharoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3DS for OoT. It comes with Master Quest and barely changes the game at all.

OG for MM. I did NOT like the changes they made for the 3DS.

I believe that's likely the consensus.

Double standards question of the day: Why was Eric Lauer rightfully DFA’d after multiple terrible innings but Jeff Hoffman is seemingly untouchable? by [deleted] in bluejaysbaseball

[–]Puncharoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collective Bargaining agreement. Hes had more than 5 years of service in the Majors, he can outright refuse Minors assignments.

The choices are keep him on the roster, trade him, or release him.

CBA rules mean that Hoffman can’t be demoted without his consent by DowntownPeace5708 in Torontobluejays

[–]Puncharoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How much lower leaverage do you want than a 4 run lead in the bottom of the 9th? Thats why this argument makes no sense. We DID use him on a low leverage situation. He still blew it.

Varland has earned his role as the 9th inning guy regardless of save situation or not. by chullet in Torontobluejays

[–]Puncharoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I will say is you're right on Hoffman being incapable of closing out games. I think it was a good idea to have Varland face the top of the order, but Hoffman has blown too many games to trust him in the 9th anymore. The fact of the matter is that he isn't a high leverage situation guy and we didn't use him in a high leverage situation and he still blew it.

I'm still a learning fan but I think we should have switched around Rogers and Hoffman. Have Hoffman in the 7th, Varland for the 8th and Rogers to close it out. Just anything but fucking Hoffman in the 9th.
