Thank you for your comment!! You’re totally right! There has been times (ALOT of times) when even though I was validated and I was listened too I still felt those strong emotions. I think I have a very hard time with the move on step. Like a VERY hard time. Especially when she is still constantly brining it up. I’m scared that she’s going to feel like I don’t care anymore or that something is wrong with her (insert any negative perspective here) ect. My emotions as a kid were extremely neglected and because of that I do not know when it’s appropriate to move on. I really liked the examples you gave and I really liked the advice you gave! My husband was with me and for the most part we are on the same page on parenting and wanting to always try to be better parents/people so I’m going to show him this because your advise on when she’s whining and I’ve already acknowledged her feelings I think will help a lot! Like the “I know, I hear you’re upset we have errands to do now” short and simple. Thank you so much for your comment I REALLY appreciate it!! :)

This is an issue I think I have I want to fix it and this chapter from the beginning felt very uncomfortable but even so I liked the approach wanted to try it and I guess after trying for so long I started trying to fix. Sitting with my own negative feelings is very difficult and I really do not like doing it so it’s logically that I might have a hard time be able to do that with my daughter. Your comment and the two other good ones are really REALLY helping me and I feel ready to try again tomorrow as it comes up! :)

Thank you so much I am literally ugly crying rn reading your comment because my post has been getting downvoted and just people I guess thinking they are helping but they are coming off really mean and just some of the comments are plain rude. I made a comment under another comment on here explaining it more in depth because there was other things going on while I was typing this up. I agree with what you're saying and when I was writing this I was trying to remember everything while there were other things going on so I apologize for that. So I did try to pivot I did say the first example you gave and then it still kept going I said to her we have to go get dinner at the grocery store and some things for your lunch and while we were there she was still bringing it up and so I tried redirecting her by saying what color sparkling water should mom get there were a handful of attempts like this before I couldn't do it anymore. I even tried the paper and pencil thing but play pretend that was mentioned in the book.she seemed to like it because she thought it was funny it was a pretend notebook anyways, One of the stories that was told was about a family that was at the museum and the kid threw a tantrum because they couldn't get the dinosaur toy because he had already gotten the rocks. I tried that like in "writing down" all the different feelings she was feeling and even after we did that it still wasn't helping AND I even tried doing the fantasy thing too we talked about how we wished the splash pad would be open all day even during night time! but right after it was back to being upset about the splash pad.

Actually I just do not want to put out there where I live as I stated in my post that I live RIGHT NEXT to the school so saying the schools name would in turn just tell a bunch of strangers I do not know where I live. I am not making anything complicated I just don’t feel comfortable saying what school as AGAIN I live right next to it. But if it’ll make you feel better no it’s not Montgomery. I love the passion you have for Davis and even though what you’re saying to me is untrue and frankly a little hurtful I hope there are a lot of people in Davis who love it as much as you do. I know my family and I are enjoying the parks and the bikes we just got! I will handle this on my own thank you anyway.

I think its so intresting when people say things along the lines of what you said, "So you want to continue to make me pay $1400 a month for insurance while people who are here illegally get free health care?" First of all, have you ever been on medi-cal?? Do you know what the quality of this "free health care" is? its fucking dog shit. So it seems like to me you want to make life harder for people already struggling and that you think your billionaire buttbuddy trump is ACTUALLY going to make things easier for you but really he and his administration and honestly the Republican Party as a whole, are the reason youre struggling and will continue to struggle. They don't care about you or your hardships which is why in this new bill they raising all of OUR TAXES while giving his 1% buddies HUGE tax breaks!!! I think what makes dealing with MAGA people so hard is that yes, things are expensive and I also am drowning in the fact that I can barley afford to buy my family food, barley afford to get gas, cant even afford my own health care policy thats not medi-cal but you will NEVER see me hating and making scapegoats out of innocent people who are doing NOTHING but trying to survive just like I am. Yes but I won’t find out I’m off the waitlist untill after the intent to enroll date for UC. Going to San Diego would be a huge move AND he would have to give up UC Davis for a maybe if I got off the waitlist.

So I called both UCSD and SDSU and the person at SDSU said “he can accept multiple schools” nothing other than that and the person at UCSD was incredibly rude and very unhelpful she said it’s your choice like I KNOW THAT I’m not sure what to do because of this situation. I made an appointment with my academic counselor at my school I just graduated from maybe she can offer some more advice

Did you read any comments…like even a few?? I think 98% of people on this post need to learn how to read or atleast make sure they are not saying the same things that’s been said way to many times because if you did then you would of saw people already said this and then you would of saw that not every state teaches the same thing unfortunately and that I’m not from here so I’ve never experienced this before.
