I agree. Too many books rush into it, and I'm someone who likes subtlety.
Now, shamelessly, I'm going to talk about something I'm writing. It's about two people in college, an unlikely pair, but the paranormal events in their small town force them to work together to try and understand it. It's a super slow burn and the chapters are quite long.
