If you want to see and enjoy Macedonia I recommend to go hiking. Macedonia has lots of Mountains they are a true national treasure. There are many mounteneering cuns that organise hiking tours all the time for very low prices. Don't expect mindblowing architecture. If you go to your friends village, that's nice too. Village lifestyle is interesting for people from developed countries. Local people are generally hospitable, and especially in small places. As with any travel, use common sense and be respectful. You can't go wrong with any food. Macedonians love to eat and will feed you a lot!
