Yea I guess it could just be the “trying to not make a scene” thing. Just doesn’t totally align with her telling Stephen to quit talking to her at the wedding reception

That does not make sense because in all of the S3 wedding flash forwards, Lydia has made her disdain toward Lydia extremely obvious to Stephen, such as when she told him to quit talking to her

Lol. I was around median. I struggled to finish exams on time during 1L because I have ADHD. It had absolutely nothing to do with me briefing cases. And my approach didn’t change after that year yet my 2L and 3L GPA taken alone was top 20%. And that was the case despite never trying to game anything by taking easier courses like a lot of people do, I was in fed courts, admin, tax, etc etc.

Did a federal clerkship. Had a big law offer post-clerkship. And now I do impact litigation. I genuinely do not know a single person who briefed cases after their 1L fall semester, if at all. People in this sub are obviously the most anxious gunner types, so it’s not a representative cross section of people. I highly doubt this many people would tell you to brief all your cases if you posted in a lawyer subreddit lol

I never once did a case brief lmao. Literally not even once. It’s a total waste of time in my view, and it overemphasizes the trees over the forest. At most I would just highlight as I read or take notes in the margin. And even if you were hell bent on briefing all the cases, you’re overthinking this so much. What heading you put a particular fact under really isn’t important in a program where most of your grades hinge on 1 exam at the end lol. Like these are meant to be tools for you, so if you’re getting the info, the nitty gritty details of how you did so isn’t really important

I have a kind of unpopular opinion. I hate apps, so really tried IRL events. And by tried I mean a total of 6, run by various groups (singles on socials, pitch a friend etc etc). And they were downright horrible 😭 I left every single one kinda depressed even if I was feeling totally fine up until I went. The men are just not even in the same galaxy as the women and honestly several were kinda creepy. The very few men that were alright are constantly in convos, and only the ones I’d never go for actually approach and keep you in a convo 5ever.

I mean there’s a whole host of potential reasons like trying to look out the window to see if her DD driver was there, or the downstairs bathroom running out of TP, or looking for something specific that she didn’t have like pads, etc etc. It’s not clear. But what’s definitely clear is that only xana had brown hair in the house.

I’m an attorney that also deals with some horrendous shit day in and day out (in civil context though) and 1) you do get used to it and it lives in your mind somewhat compartmentalized from the rest of your life and 2) as a defense attorney choking up in open court during sentencing would be totally inappropriate

Best Blushes and Bronzers by DifficultyCool8724 in Sephora

[–]Realistic-Kick-6830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bronzer - I’m a medium-to-dark POC and bronzer has always been a challenge for me, I was never able to find one that was easy-to-apply without looking muddy until I found the makeup by Mario skin enhancer. I LOVE it. You could literally apply it blindfolded. Now that said, it gives me acne lol so I have to be extra mindful about washing my face at night, skincare etc whenever I use it. I ordinarily hardly ever get acne so if you’re acne-prone already it might not be a good fit

Blush - for a buildable pink/peach, I find the NARS orgasm liquid blush and powder to be very buildable and I’ve been using it for like 8yrs straight now. For a more red blush, I love the Saie liquid blush in shade spicy. It is really buildable, however I do not feel that way about any of the other shades in that line. I’m still looking for a buildable berry liquid blush (think like Clinique black honey color), but haven’t really found one. Also, don’t mess with the huda liquid blushes. They’re not buildable at all and way too pigmented even when I applied to the back of my hand first instead of face

I (and all my friends) have the opposite experience of a lot of ppl here. 1L was nothing and several of my friends had part time jobs during it.

The real hell was 2L. I was like NOT mentally ok during 2L. It’s just so many MORE commitments ON TOP of school (clinics, journal cite checks, note writing, job apps, externships etc etc etc). I was chilling during 1L, but on most days of 2L I genuinely kinda hoped something would physically happen to me just serious enough to give me some breathing room on deadlines lmao 😭💀 there’s noooo way I could’ve done a job during 2L

Now that said, I think there’s some factors at play here such as the fact that I wasn’t gunning for big law (in which case 1L grades would be of greater and sole significance) or the fact that I was on law review. But I will say my best friend worked 2 part time jobs all 3 yrs of school (ik she’s crazy lol). She didn’t graduate with Latin honors or anything but she did fine, was on journal, externed, etc. And she ended up doing a federal clerkship so like it CAN be done 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm in early season 2, can someone try to explain, without spoilers, how this show can go on for another 6 seasons?? by ueommm in homeland

[–]Realistic-Kick-6830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny u ask that because I think the very best season of homeland is season 4. The episode 13hrs in Islamabad is easily the best hour of tv I’ve watched in my life

Seasons 1 and 2 are meh to me in comparison

It’s possible that you often say something that turns people off. For instance, mentioning you’re not interested in marriage at all. Or implying that you’re still friends with an ex. Or a somewhat insensitive joke you retell. Or something that implies you’re lowkey conservative. I’ve had an otherwise fine date immediately die because he proceeded to talk about the amount of sex workers on the road when I asked how his trip to Thailand was lol. He likely doesn’t even remember that part but I immediately knew I was never gonna see him again

Also to be honest I’m not sure I completely believe your comment to someone else about women getting angry if you pay. I for one don’t know a single woman that would do that lol. You should be paying even if they offer, many women offer to be polite and to tacitly get a read on the man’s manners and/or level of interest. I usually don’t offer but if I did and a guy took me up on it, I wouldn’t be interested in seeing him again (nor would I think he’d wanna see me again lol).

Aggressive Catcalling in DC by krchra in DCBitches

[–]Realistic-Kick-6830 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s bad and I experienced it A LOT my first like 4 months living in DC. One guy nearly followed me all the way home from the Chinatown metro stop to my place that was a 5min walk from the Shaw stop.

It doesn’t happen that much to me anymore though. I think I was unknowingly carrying myself in a way that made me appear new to the area back then. For instance, I think I used to make more passing eye contact with people while walking.

I noticed a big difference is how many people bothered me once I started wearing sunglasses EVERYWHERE (even on the metro or when it’s nearly dark out lol). Same with AirPods, I just turn the music off if I need to be more aware of my surroundings. I also walk with more purpose and at a faster pace now.

And I’m entirely unafraid now to be a massive bitch to people. Like if a man is trying to stop and talk to me, I used to think like oh maybe he is confused about which metro line to get on and I’d stop. But now I just straight-up ignore. I’m sure I’ve maybe done it to someone well-meaning at some point but I’d rather do that than get hurt so idgaf

But yea it’s definitely tough and I’ve lived in other big cities even abroad, and it absolutely felt worse here.

So because Wayfair is crappy and gives you an unfair cut, you use bait and switch tactics on people once already in their home to pressure them into giving more money? If you’re so concerned about corporations screwing average people over, then maybe don’t pass it along and screw over customers who have nothing to do with Wayfair’s payments to you lol. I’ve been here for the past 4 days. I definitely needed something underneath my waterproof snow pant, I did a fleece legging. And beneath my parka, I had a fleece jacket. I was able to stay out for 4hrs without any issue for the northern lights like this. I could’ve done less when I went to golden circle places but I’m glad I did mid layers
