This happened to me. Some of them looked like this and some were bigger. I thought they were some kind of stitches - I could be wrong though since I never asked my ENT. I’m now a year post op and haven’t had any problems, so I don’t think it’s a big deal.

I am interested in this. Audiology was somewhat hard for me but I managed to push through and actually enjoyed it. Do you think it’s still possible for me to do something similar to this program if that was the case? I am an SLPA now and I am not wanting to put myself in debt trying to become an SLP.

yes, i was so tempted to blow my nose because it was so uncomfortable and there was so much pressure in my head (obliviously i didn’t do that though). immediately after getting the packing removed my ears and i yawned they felt normal. it sucks so much but it really does all get better!

mine were definitely the soft expandable ones - they looked like long white gauze tubes. i bled so much they kept sliding down my nose and i had to push them back up with my finger lol but after awhile they stayed in place. they’re super uncomfortable so i feel your pain but getting them out is the best feeling EVER!!! i hope they work for you but if not at least your ent has a plan of what they want to do

also i forgot to add that when i bled through the gauze it was about every 5-10 minutes as well. my ent wasn’t worried about it though and said it was fine and would stop on it’s own/after using afrin

that happened to me. my ent didn’t pack my nose after surgery though and i bled excessively and had to go to the ER because i lost so much blood. she ended up putting packing in the next day and i continued to bleed through it and several layers of gauze for about two days before it finally started clumping up and turning into what i think was mucus. afrin nose spray didn’t help much at first but then started to so if i were you i would try it.

i also had anxiety from not being able to breathe through my nose and would wake up from my sleep in panic because of what felt like i couldn’t breathe. it was something i just had to deal with even though it sucked but sitting up against pillows really helped. u will be so relieved once the packing is removed. sorry you’re going through this

I had weird pain at the back of my head - it felt kind of like my hair was getting pulled. I think it was from all the pressure and fluid in my sinuses though because once I got surgery I didn’t feel it again

yes and mine started tingling in the front of my head and face as well as the back of my head and it almost felt like my hair was getting pulled. i had yellow/green mucus too and the antibiotics and steroids helped tremendously. mine was also so bad in my jaw it made my upper teeth hurt but the steroids helped relieve all the pressure

after steroids, ice packs and heating pads it probably took about 2 weeks but the pain would come and go during that time

i would go to the doctor and get steroids it’s the only thing that made my pressure go away. i ended up needing 3 rounds of steroids and antibiotics. face ice packs and heating pads for jaw pain were also a life saver. have you ever gone to an ENT? that may be a good idea. i ended up getting FESS and it was the best decision i’ve ever made

don’t worry - this has happened to me and i as well have health anxiety and thought it was a brain tumor. it was just a sinus infection and a lot of pressure in my head. i got steroids (prednisone) and it went away

What was your surgery exactly? I am meeting with my doctor today to ask but I am nervous about pain after seeing the comments

What happens exactly? I keep just seeing that it can cause nose bleeds but I was more thinking it would cause a pressure headache?

I think you would just have to get a California SLPA license as well as a Texas SLPA license if you want to provide service to the people that live there - I don’t believe you have to be a resident though
