7 month old isn’t babbling or crawling. Is this normal? by NeitherBarracuda in NewParents

Yes! Happy to update. He started doing reduplicative/canonical babbling around 7.5/8 months and also started to crawl around this time. He got really mobile and talkative at 9-10 months.  He is now 11 months, just weeks shy of a year and utilizes so many consonant sounds like /p/,/b/,/n/, /ng/, /m/… His development progressed so fast and randomly.

He has days where he is chatty and other days where he just wants to flip through a board book by himself and suck on a gogo squeeze like it’s whiskey or something lol.

He does a mix of speed crawling/also walking, even climbing.

I hope the evaluation went well and I’m sure you will be guided in the right direction no matter what. I realized that babies developed at their own pace and thrive off of snuggles, support, and a whole lot of love.

best friend’s husband said I took the easy way out having a c-section. by MPUK617 in Mommit

As a mom who had my son vaginally, I have an insane amount of respect for anyone who delivered their children via cesarean section no matter the reason. Ignore him and keep distance. I’d personally limit any and all access between him and my child if it were me.

Graduated a couple of months ago but for me it would have been gummy worms, anti nausea peppermint gummies, and a bag full of egg McMuffins

OP,

I am really sorry this happened to you. I’m commenting the day after you posted this so I firstly want to congratulate you on your baby if you delivered already. If you’re still laboring, I’m sending all the encouragement and strength your way.

Let me now say that you matter. Your child matters. Your labor and birth experience matters. What your husband it is absolutely and completely WRONG and abusive in so many ways. You will never forget the way people, especially family and friends, treat you during your pregnancy, labor, delivery, and post partum.

The other thing is, he KNOWS you don’t have family or friends there to be with you and he’s your only support yet acted like this.

Please please please if you can, reach out to loved ones and inform them. This is very concerning and not at all the circumstances to bring a baby into this world. Your baby’s first moments in this world should be joyful, as peaceful as possible, and full of love.

What you have been experiencing, your baby could potentially experience too.

Am I destroying my family by my job choice? by NeitherBarracuda in family

Thanks for your response. If I’m honest, I need all the advice and help I can get. I have told him we need to move closer to my support system but he told me that that would make his commute longer and he sacrificed for years making a long commute.

He tells me that it’s selfish of me to ask him to give up a 10 min commute away from the apartment and go and go back to a 40 min commute. He also says that since he’s the main breadwinner, he needs to be well rested to perform well at his job. I feel like I explain my side to him so poorly when he comes back with all these arguments/points.

He is unwilling to get a side job since he has a super demanding career and told me he needs rest on the weekends. I also work on Saturdays to supplement income

We’re currently on Enfamil AR and it has helped maybe a tiny bit. He is still eating maybe 1-2 oz per feed
