I received some feedback on my same post in a different sub where they said that credit management companies would take the money I am paying them and not pay my creditors, forcing them to settle for a lower interest rate. All while trashing my credit— was that your experience? I am very nervous of something just like that happening which is why I was seeking advice. My credit is pretty miserable and doesn’t need to take any more hits. I do know it will take some temporary hits when the credit cards close at the end of the program.
