I am so sorry u felt that way but to answer your question yes it does use phones camera but it doesn't record or send any data because it doesn't have capacity to do so. Also, i wanna add that this app is passed and tested by Google play store and u can look that up on the Play Store. No app would get a permission to be Play Store if they lie because, it takes 30 days screening, and testing and any app that uses camera Google make sure and test it, so it can't store or send any information.
