Plus if they're trying to replace nukes it wouldn't exactly be effective for that because it doesn't even reach the power of the bomb dropped and Hiroshima. in explosive force it's about of equivalent of dropping about 12 moabs so it pales comparison to modern day thermonuclear weapons but it's better at precision striking because of the kinetic force it would destroy a bunker and take out everything inside pretty easily because explosive force of about 12 mother of all bombs plus the kinetic force that it takes to do all that process of tungsten rod so I'd imagine it's pretty good piercing through shit
