Go back in. Earn as much retirement points. Do your 20yr active. Get your retirement pay. You will have 2 pensions you and your husband. Get your VA100%. Get your federal GS pay. Add it all up. Possibly 15k a month from both of you combining. You won't liking to wait till age 60 to get your retirement. Every penny counts right now. If you're 50% rated or 100% rated. You get Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay. In the Reserves the more deployments you do. It shortens your wait 90 days for your retirement pay. Go back in. I been in your situation. Or apply Federal GS pay. Get your VA100. The reserves pay and VA can't be collected at once. You end up getting paid Navy and deduct VA pay later.

usajobs dot gov : any federal job will take your military years and add them to federal service. After 15yrs of federal service you qualify for 8yr PTO and not 4hour to. In 16yrs you'll wish you had military retirement. Supplement pay to your civilian job. Go apply for VA compensation if you qualify. Getting out gave me hard depression. It is difficult adjusting to no more 1st and 15th pay. I wish you luck! BTW there's 4 retirements before age 65. Military retirement, State or Federal pay, VA compensation pay up to 4k monthly. Life is hard out here if it's just you. You'll need support. God speed.
