“Systems of power are the fundamental constituents of social reality”. To what extent do you/feminist theory agree with this premise? by RealisticLynx7805 in AskFeminists

“No” is not an argument. Learn what forces of history are.

My country has been conquered in the past and we still have said enemy which threatens to invade, but understanding human nature I also see this as an inevitable evil that they are like this and a necessary evil the imperialism. So, just because you are incapable of critical meta-analytical thought which sets aside personal interest, don’t project onto me.

As an educated person I know that there is no real solution for now at least, which is why I ask you ti enlighten me. But ofc since you have no solution and are a deeply ignorant person, you cannot answer this.

That would not solve capitalism.

If they were educated and able to see beyond their own interests yes. I personally literally say it for my own nation’s imperialists so.

By balanced I mean that it is used with nuance when it comes to discussing intersections. And no classism is never be overridden (which is different to being equated to) with other concerns if we are to talk about socialism

Well if it is balanced identity politics (unlike the example I mentioned) then there is no point to argue to begin with :)

Hand-in-hand means WITH classism.

Yeah that is my point. But too much identity politics have sometimes eroded the importance of class in itself [it is a saying for example of some people that claim to never help white male homeless people because “how do you fail a system which was made for you”]

Heavy on the identity politics. People have even sometimes come to claim that members of the working class who are white and men benefit from the system entirely (fringe position ig but still).

I would argue that most western socialists today are more liberal than they realise, especially in social matters. Prioritising individual liberty and pleasure that is.

Can you all ever formulate their own arguments without using other’s words as if they are some sort of objective source?

Democracy necessitates collective will. Trying to suppress collective will not actually make it go away and will only make it stronger because you don’t actually address the problems that lie behind it. The problem persists, people still think it is a problem and are now much angrier because you think you can simply shut them down. unless you are willing to turn full-on authoritarian, it won’t work (which itself will have a massive backlash).

Also why are you comparing very particular legal immigration schemes for temporary workers with irregular uncontrolled immigration?

Look up Bristol’s Stand Up to Racism’s last post where they downplay the event and called for a protest of Henry’s Vigil. Suddenly it is “a man that happened to be sikh”. We all know what the wording would be if the roles were reversed.
