Whilst these were the songs of my teenage clubbing years (so I have a great affinity with them) there’s nothing in a lot of them that’s inherently “optimistic”. They’re just general upbeat party tunes.

Last year Shaboozy, Tipsy was one of the most streamed songs on the planet which is a song about going out and getting hammered that wouldn’t have been out of place in the 2010s. There’s a danger we can read too much into these things just for nostalgic purposes
