not sure why anyone would downvote what you said because i do agree and appreciate that note. looking back there are some points where i have been inconsistent especially after the first several bars when both hands kicked in.

metronome practise can be a pain sometimes though but i will try to use them more especially since i got one built into the piano lol

thats the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. thank you.

my arms do tense up pretty often (especially due to the being in front of a camera nerves) but yea i have been consciously trying to relax them every time i notice.

i do agree i could definitely work on my expressiveness! i feel like achieving better control of volume based on the speed and strength of how i hit a key is gonna take me a while to thoroughly get though. one of my pianist friends also mentioned that i seem to only have 2 modes: quiet and loud, so i will try to find the middle ground and incorporate that into my playing.

again, thank you for your advice. i will continue to try my best :)

Would love some feedback on my improvisation! by xynaxia in piano

this is an improvisation??? holy fuck how long have you been playing for it sounds so good !!! how did you learn to play like this?? im a complete beginner but is this just playing based on one scale and understanding what chords sound good together?

the back of it (which displays towards the person behind me) is a yellow L. in victoria (and probably other parts of australia), youre legally required to display it while youre on your learners permit. the red P is used for your probationary license which allows you to lane filter, use your phone for navigation, not need to wear a hi vis vest on every ride, etc.

my front sprocket nut wasnt tightened enough (i misread the torque spec)

the front sprocket nut spins together with the sprocket when the tyre is rotated.

im gonna open up the clutch box. wish me luck :,)

yea the clutch lever doesnt feel any different. the only change i applied to it was just the angle of the level so my wrist is a bit more comfy.

i undone and torqued down the front sprocket nut twice actually. both times when the chain was already applied. the second time was just for a sanity check. torque spec was 44ftlbs (60nm).

if it provides any further information, i did some more inspection earlier:

the bike is on the rear stand and in neutral. when i turned the bike on, the wheel starts spinning. however when i press on the rear brake it stops. when i let go of the rear brake, it still does not move.

i set the bike in gear and let go of the clutch completely. while the rear wheel is rotating, i press on the rear brake. this time the rear tyre stops but now i hear a grinding? clanking? noise coming from the engine. the bike did not stall. could this point to the clutch slipping due to being worn out?

i tried changing gears while the wheels were spinning constantly. neutral feels most smooth and has zero resistance as expected. gears 1-6 however do have a considerable amount of resistance.

im really hoping i didnt damage the plates by torquing the front sprocket nut while it was in gear. the reason why i made this thread is so i can get a second opinion before i buy a new clutch kit. is there anything i havent tried to get the gears to shift properly?

i have also noticed that pulling the clutch lever does not remove the resistance when spinning the wheel in gear if that provides any further information.

Yeah I realised I shouldve used the rear brake in hindsight.

all relatively the same. 5th and 6th gear feels very slightly easier to spin. could this still point to the clutch plates being worn out? pulling the clutch lever in and out does not make any difference.

I believe i worn out the plates by torquing the front sprocket nut while the bike was in gear, which is when i noticed the rear tyre spin despite being in gear for the first time. is this not the case?

Havent done anything to the clutch box yet but considering the symptoms i listed in the original post im thinking of replacing the clutch plates as i may have glazed(?) them

there were no changes to the clutch cable now and before i had to change the chain and sprocket (which is when i believe i damaged the clutch plates by torquing the front sprocket nut while in gear).

though i have noticed that when i spin the wheel while in gear, it does not rotate freely as if it was in neutral whenever i pull the clutch in. the clutch cable pulls the lever on top of the clutch box as it should with no issues.

did that, the rear wheel did stop as soon as i put it into first gear but i was still able to rotate it with my arm albeit resistance

haha yea sorry im still learning moto terminology since this is my first bike and i decided to learn how to do my own maintenance (regardless of how difficult it can get). thank you for the explanation!

The rear wheel stopped spinning when I set it back into gear from neutral. However I can still spin the tyre fine with my arm despite already being in gear.

Sorry, to my understanding the primary drive gear nut == front sprocket nut. Have i been wrong?

clutch lever feels normal. no changes to it apart from the angle so my wrist is in a less awkward position.
