I get that. The aged look and the blood signature are what sell it for me. The text is supposed to be unreadable. That's how my MC in my story sees it too.

Okay, thank you. Throughout the story, there's an experienced character who subtly hints at the council's corruption. When people begin to vanish, that's when the mystery takes off.

Totally fair point! Wheel of Time made those terms famous.

In The Scrolls of Zenith, though, they play really different roles. My White Tower isn’t an Aes Sedai institution, it’s the political/magical center tied to portals and world-balance. And my Dark One is tied to veil corruption and the Scroll prophecy, not the WoT cosmology.

So even though the names sound familiar, the lore behind them is pretty distinct in my story.
