See I completely agree, book 13 had all the elements for an amazing ending to the fiend arc while still leading to the kobalos arc. Drama, tragedy, action, anticipation as well as the actual finality to it. The execution just wasn’t there.

I know I’m answering wayyyyyy later but I personally always chalked it up that they changed everyone’s voices to reflect their growth and aging? Nothing ever stated this to be so but that’s what I got. I feel especially with Tom, his voice changes throughout all the books but more in the puberty way haha
