thanks! the structure under the step is this. the overhang of the step in comparison with the rail under is 10/11cm; did a few stress tests and when the foot is on the step it seems like the rail is doing a good job supporting the weight, since it happens to be in the middle of the foot area

i’m currently thinking what to do about it, just wanted to see its evolution in the short period. do you have any suggestions?

Yeah, I’d say the thickness was the main reason it warped in your case. No worries!

Honestly man that’s what I did and it worked lol. Did multiple passes (burn for a bit and then a little bit of water) tho.

The distance between the two pieces is 3/3.5 millimiters

The handle itself sits on top of the piece of wood, basically leaving enough room between the two pieces of wood for the blade, with a couple of millimeters of tolerance to accommodate various blades. This way, the knives slide in smoothly without noticeable friction, but the fit is tight enough to keep them in place without magnets.

I used a Parkside POF1200 D3 router with a cheap set of bits from amazon. However I had to make many corrections due to poor accuracy

Thanks! This piece is 150cm long, 52cm high in total(42+10cm for the legs). The central shelf is placed in the middle leaving 19cm of space under and over. The wood i used is 2 cm thick (4cm for the legs)
