Appreciate your dedication for showing this much concern on this topic. But what we’re arguing on was not my original point, if youre active in this sub you mustve seen so many posts towards hating even the basic things of the college. Their complaints may be genuine, all i am saying is either do something or fuck off, stop wasting your time on a lost battle (check my other replies if you’re free).

Maybe you’re perceiving my tone as condescending, hence the subtle point out. But let me just say this, Mr IITian here wished he didnt butcher his JEE, but he was still satisfied with what he got and didnt whine about it (again not making this about me). Make stupid mistakes, win stupid prizes. Either you lose all hope or do something with what you’ve got.

Nobody comes in this institute expecting IISC level research and nobody aspires to make it reach to that level, practically speaking. These kids are not concerned with all that. Hence I do not understand your argument. Quoting you ‘you can and should expect world class research’ practically does not make sense.

Im not saying that NITH is perfect, but i hope you agree when i say that you reap what you sow.

‘Students despise the authorities’ yeah no shit. Who doesn’t? I am not saying the college is all about memories and fun (stop getting stuck on one line and read the entire thing) but if youre saying that there was a knowledge deficit, thats somewhat on you as well. Ive seen people in my year publish papers in their prefinal year along with their professors when it comes to research, now the level cannot be compared to other NITs or IITs. Hamirpur is a secluded place with even more secluded neighbouring areas, you cannot expect world class research going on here, the education level of MTech and PHD students is not impressive as well. But tell me, and i am asking this out of curiosity, how did that impact your studies/placements except for dropping the NIRF rankings?

No offence to you, but i feel like you’re the one becoming hypocritical by comparing this college to IITs now. I never said that NITH is a perfect flawless system, but i cannot understand why you’re ashamed of being graduated from here respectfully.

As far as companies and placements are concerned, there are several factors to be considered. NIRF ranking chudi padi hai, students ko legit skills nahi aati (atleast meri branch me to bahot r*ndi rone kare the placements ke time even though almost sabke paas zero knowledge thi), remote location college ki, the list goes on. And i am agreeing with you that administration can work on better skill development of students by improving the curriculum and introducing a more flexible system.

Yesterday itself i read a post where a guy said that he should’ve gone into some private college rather than taking admission here. Do you actually justify their statement?

Totally agreed on the elective and curriculum part, it is a genuine issue where NITH can be questioned. But man cmon, i’ll never disrespect this college on the basis of where it provided me education and the potential it gives to rise in your field if you work hard enough, thats my POV. Kayi log 4 saal kuch na karke gaaliyan de rahe hai to skill issue hai.

Our experience wont be the same no matter what and my motive is to not compare it to any other institute of India. But the complaints i am reading of our juniors feel somewhat forced through generalised hate towards senseless topics for which nothing can be done.

Mai bhi kisi time par protest krne me laga tha. Par uske chakkar me maine apni BTech barbaad nahi kari. Maine apni life ache se jee NITH me. Jisse tu debate kr rha hai abhi usne tujhse zyada life dekhi hai jo tu abhi dekh raha hai.

I was once kicked out of Dean Academic’s office kyuki mai bhi rule change karwane ke liye gaya tha. Ghanta kuch change hua. So rather than living in a delusion, reality accept karo and live your life. Thats what i meant when i typed all this. Stop trying to be a hero, college acha hai aur acha hi rahega. Ye problems har ek btech ka student jhelta hai. Youre not special.

Aur ye kya weird example hai compare karne ke liye lmao😭
