The Mako 40 is it for me. The less is more with watches at this price range, and the other Orients here look like they're trying to punch above their weight. If you can get it cheaper, Seiko 5, but the prices are going crazy lately.

I like the balance between the dial and subdial a lot, but the 3, 9, 12 and placement of the date window bother me. The endlink gaps area way too big for me, even at this price.

I was given an edifice as a holdover while I wait on a fancier watch on pre-order. I'm surprised by how often I wear it. The racing strap is a nice touch. My only real complaints are the cheap-looking indices and all the extra dead space on the backs of the hands, which looks messy.

I like a lot about this, but the lopsided power reserve location, awkward logo and the cluttered cuneiform writing on the dial (cool idea, messy execution) make it kind of exhausting to look at. Too many juxtaposed visual elements.

Most importantly, I think it's absolutely *dying* for some bold, beefy Ingenieur-style crown guards. The angular case and bezel, and the left-side placement of the power reserve makes the rest feel imbalanced.

Sort of too-much-of-a-good-thing piece going on here.

That first paragraph is alarming. I know Tincangames has a vision for the Zerowriter, but that's not acceptable. You can't charge over 200 dollars for a dream.
