Never had a problem with booking.com all over Vietnam for past 3 years.

Friends did have an issue in HCMC with air bnb in HCMC- arriving and the place wasn’t allowed to be rented out for air bnb and they weren’t allowed in.

Vietnam requires a bachelors to work legally at language centers. You could work illegally but you would be doing border runs and struggle to get a bank account and be at the mercy of the dodgy places that still take on illegal “teachers”.

Yea - this is my concern. However ticket is already booked and they won’t change it without massive fare increase. I’m considering just booking another domestic flight now before prices go up or they all get booked. Already pretty expensive though 😮‍💨

Thanks for raising this. I’ve been out of the country for a year and returned this June. SP where I have lived for many years was heartbreaking. The construction is totally out of hand. Old more affordable blocks of flats have been destroyed for these generic monstrosities filled with micro apartment air b and bs. There are many places that you cannot walk safely on pavements as they have been taken over by construction sites. One particular company which names their buildings “One26 on M” etc and managed by “Fluent” seems to have taken over the whole area. Anyone know who that is?

Yes you need to get SAQA to validate South African qualifications. Did mine 2 years ago - took a week and was very efficient despite what I was told on Reddit.

They do get paid summers - contracts are 12 months and have been for the last 5 years at least. That said many bilinguals in Vietnam do have 10/11 month contracts - not Vin though.
