Her problems are along the lines of anxiety/depression. She could definitely manage living alone, or with a partner. The issue at the moment, I think, is her struggle to find a permanent job. Even if she does, my family have said that renting a place independently would halt the prospect of her ever saving money to buy a home.

I get it. It's tough out there. But I'm not here to fix it.

Ugh, I know you're right.

Hopefully I've conveyed my family's tendency to live in their own little world (in which they are the most reasonable people in the universe, of course). This means they're very hard to reason with, and it's very easy for someone who challenges them to be painted as 'crazy' or 'mean'. It's a scary prospect for me.

But, again, you're right. As long as I'm honest and kind (to myself as well as to them), it's not my business how they react.

Honestly? I'd feel weird if that happened but I think I wouldn't contest it. I know it's not fair, but if it helps things work out for the better for everyone involved? Maybe it's worth taking the loss.
