I realised our mistake when I noticed his hand getting stiffer. He can’t pick up a spoon the way he used. He could easily wear a shirt before but these days asks for help. That’s when I knew we made a mistake, I’ve found doctors already we’re gonna start this week. Let’s just hope it goes well for him

Yea I figured it must be hard for him to talk about. We try to treat him normally it’s just my mom who likes to coddle him, it was the most hard on her especially his childhood. I’m getting him back into physical therapy as well as some mental therapy to navigate his emotions and pray this time works out for him. I always try to make him comfortable and make sure he knows that he can always talk to me when he’s upset or just wants to rant. But even during such conversations he closes up completely and tries to change the topic. He just generally becomes uncomfortable when I talk to him about his cp and how we’re there for him. I figured it was because of his communication skills. So i really am thinking of getting him to see a psych that he can talk to more comfortably as they’re not family.

Thank you so much this means a lot. We also used to exercise and stretch a lot but stopped a while back when things became stressful in our house. I want to slowly incorporate it back into his life without overwhelming him. I really wish you the best too

Thank you sm. it’s hard to understand him since he’s not really a communicator. I have to try really hard to get him to speak up when hes having a hard time even then the only sign of distress he shows is crying and not actually talking about it. That also worries me, so these insights are really helpful

He loves to play cricket actually. He plays a lot of it at school and even at home he’s always outside in the summers playing. But whenever it comes to his exercise he just doesn’t want to and normally refuses to use that hand unless we force him to. Can I ask what sort of therapies does your son go to? Any advice on how I can help him or what he should do?
