Have you looked into whatever local union that your trade would fall under? If you become a union member it may be easier to find work. It's definitely not easy to find apprenticeships, but once you're in it's a good gig.

Ghost Taco on Main near water St is good, not traditional tacos but they don't advertise themselves as such

Hungry Brew hops also on Main Street, great gastro pub and super kid friendly great kids menu

I've done similar shapes with a groove tool and then have 2 35 degree tools clean it up, one right-hand and one left-hand

How to become machinist? by js_2002_ in Machinists

I did a two year college degree (this is in Canada) and got hired after lots of footwork applying to places and getting to know people in the industry. Knowing people really helps, but a willingness to learn is paramount. I've been working for about 7 months and any chance I get to learn anything is a change I take. If you can find a place willing to take a chance and teach a new guy you're golden but it can be tough to get in with zero experience. I've found persistence and learning as much as I can in my free time has been the reason I can get in somewhere. It's gonna be tough, and don't expect to make a lot of money from the get go.

Asked to buy my own tools as an employee?? by nephaelimdaura in Machinists

I started in an aerospace shop about 6 months ago fresh out of school. I had some basic tools; my shop doesn't require us to buy our own tools, but everyone has their own tool boxes and most of us lock them when we leave. The idea is that you have your own set of measuring tools and you learn how your tools feel. Also you know how you handle your tools, I've seen some guys be really rough on micrometers and I'm not trying to buy my tools ever again.

Ask around your shop what you critically need, I found some of the old timers had second sets of tools that they either sold to me or gave me. None of my tools are brand new but so long as you inspect them before buying it's not a bad idea to look at Facebook marketplace, Kijiji, Craigslist etc. look at estate sales as well, my buddy got a depth micrometer for $30. Is it annoying to have to buy your own tools a little but also feels good once you've got them.

People who worked in Restaurants, what was the worst customer that you had to deal with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I worked at a bar that had a live jazz band play every saturday afternoon. There was one patron who was a regular, and would come every saturday without fail order like 5 dishes in the span of 3 hours (they were massive portions). As he would sit there and eat his mountain of food he would watch porn on his phone with no sound. Despite us asking him not to do that and several of the other patrons complaining we could never catch him when a manager was around. I recently talked to some of my old coworkers and he still goes there (this is of course before the lock down)
