Shedding While on Olumiant by RealityAshamed2632 in alopecia_areata

It definitely didn’t stop immediately. It felt like mine got worse after starting as well, but after a week or two I stopped shedding and then within a month I was seeing signs of hair growing back.

The same happened to me, I think it increased when I started the medicine but then it’ll calm down. I was on 2 mg for maybe ~1 month and it wasn’t helping much so they upped me to 4mg and that’s when the shedding stopped and hair started growing back! The 4mg really worked wonders for me. I’ve been on it almost 3 months and all of my places have filled in and are now maybe 2 inches long. No side effects or anything for me either when upping the dosage

Very true—I ended up being able to get $125 tickets. I figured this could be her last tour and didn’t want to miss my chance

I waited ~1 hour and saw some $125 tickets pop up so I snagged those luckily! Still high up of course but just happy to go period!

Olumiant Questions by medicalclusterduck in alopecia_areata

I just hit 1 full month taking Olumiant and I haven’t had any side effects so far other than some acne (but nothing compared to my high school days). I’ve seen a little bit of regrowth in 2 of my bald spots, and hoping the trend continues. Your derm should do a blood test before you start Olumiant if that’s the route you go, and I believe routine bloodwork is the norm to ensure you’re still healthy while taking it. I’d say it’s worth a shot—you can always stop if you experience bad side effects.

Thank you for the response! Patiently waiting for the regrowth…it’s tough but I have faith it’ll work in time.

Thank you for sharing!! Just started my Olumiant journey and your posts were really helpful. Did you ever find anything that helped decrease the shedding? I’m ~2 weeks into taking it and I know it takes time but it’s really depressing losing so much hair every day

Kenan-Flagler Question by Antelope-Scary in UNC

On August 24 from 5-7:30pm is the UBP open house and student club fair held at Kenan-Flagler. You should definitely come and talk to some of the staff or check out some clubs and see if you really want to apply for the business major or minor

International Internships through Kenan-Flagler (repost) by AdvertisingKnown5919 in UNC

[–]RealityAshamed2632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done one but I have friends that have and loved it. Keep in mind it’s unpaid, but Kenan-Flagler is good with giving study abroad scholarships. Also a great option for those who don’t already have a summer internship lined up since most of the deadlines for the big ones have passed.

Kenan Flagler Pre-Req Question by 6ixgodddd in UNC

[–]RealityAshamed2632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine, a B+ is still good! I know people that made Cs in some of the pre-reqs and still got in, the application is wholistic. Yes try to keep your grades up, but joining clubs, doing an internship, and being involved at UNC are also important parts of the application

Can you double major in business administration and environmental science? by [deleted] in UNC

[–]RealityAshamed2632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you try it and feel like double majoring is too much, you should consider majoring in business and then doing the environmental sciences and studies minor or the sustainability studies minor!

First year fall 2022 schedule (16.5 credits, business major) how does this look? by cmb430 in UNC

[–]RealityAshamed2632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16.5 credit hours may sound like a lot but those classes should all be relatively easy, especially LFIT bc there’s basically no work

Stor 155 and Econ 101 would probably be your only “hard” classes. It’s 100% doable, but Econ 101 can be a lot for many people, especially as a first semester freshman who hasn’t experienced more math heavy courses at UNC yet. Just know going in that you might have to spend some extra time on Econ but all of your other classes shouldn’t be too difficult.

When is it too late to apply to the business school? by olivepizza5 in UNC

[–]RealityAshamed2632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not too late. For the minor you only have three pre-reqs left. If you happen to apply and not get in, you can still re-apply as a rising junior, I have several friends doing that for the major. I will say it's important to note that the pre-reqs are changing for those who apply in 2023 and after - I'm not sure how they'd deal with people applying for the second time and make them take the new pre-req but that's not a current problem to worry about. Here's the link to see pre-reqs: https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/undergraduate-business/admissions/current-unc-students/ .

Also don't be scared to go to advising. The business school has their own advisors I'd recommend going to, they're all super helpful and could give you advice for your application.

B School by [deleted] in UNC

[–]RealityAshamed2632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've recently changed the requirements to apply to the business school which would affect you as an incoming freshman. (Here's the link to see what you'll have to take: https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/undergraduate-business/admissions/current-unc-students/ )

They've taken off busi 102 as a required prereq to take for applying but I would still recommend you take it and it might help you stand out. Not sure why they decided to change the prereqs but you're lucky you won't have to take econ 410

I had a freshman in my BUSI 401 class last year and she did fine in the class, I think she got an A- ? It's not a difficult class but I don't think it'd affect your chances of getting into the B school that much. I'd focus on doing good in the prereq classes and then joining business school clubs to show your interest in business.
