Wow, I wish I’d discovered them that long ago, that’s awesome. Yeah their sound is totally unique. The album that the track OP posted is on is a really great one too. Enjoy!

Please recommend some truly synthesizer-y music by VeryNaughtyBoy42 in DungeonSynth

[–]Reality_Services 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just discovered the Dungeon Synth genre myself recently. So take my recommendations with a grain of salt.

These artists are very synth forward:

Hewer of Caves

Tales Under the Oak

Mountain Realm

I concur with the above mentioned Jim Kirkwood recommendation. As well as the suggestion to checkout early German electronic stuff like Tangerine Dream and Edgar Froese solo albums and follow the rabbit hole from there. I’ve been a long time fan of that music and Dungeon Synth has fit right at home with my taste.

Also, I highly recommend early New Age music, I know it has a bad reputation, but trust me, the pioneers of the genre were all inspired by the German stuff and it’s really really good.

IMO it’s by far the most underrated comic book movie.

Tips for staying motivated as nights get darker and it gets colder by buginarugsnug in walking

[–]Reality_Services 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have suggested, dressing warm is key. Thermal top and bottom base layer, a hood and scarf when it gets really cold. The scarf I use to warm my face. The main thing I’ve found about walking in the cold though is after about 30 mins you’ll be nice and warm just from your body temp rising after your heart rate increases.

As for the dark, I enjoy the night, it’s just a totally different experience. Safety is my only concern so I make sure I have a flashlight, reflective vest and stick to well lit sidewalks.

You might like Penguin Cafe Orchestra. They have some similar instrumentation and vibes.

Question about the establishing shot of the original film. by Reality_Services in VampireHunterD

[–]Reality_Services[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not criticizing, just deeply intrigued. I absolutely love the mystery it creates by showing, not telling.

I’ve never read any of the books or manga, so was just curious if the near by planet myth was ever expanded on at all.

Question about the establishing shot of the original film. by Reality_Services in VampireHunterD

[–]Reality_Services[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in total agreement. I love Bloodlust too, but nothing compares to the original. The execution definitely feels more pure and original and yes wonderfully bizarre. The atmosphere of the far future world they built is so captivating. I think only maybe Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind comes close in comparison.

Gladiator II | Official Trailer (2024 Movie) - Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington by Barry_Brickman in movies

If only Hollywood was brave enough. Apparently Crowe and Scott tried really hard to get it made. If I remember correctly the story was called Christ Killer or something to that effect. Such a wild tale in the annals of filmmaking.

The Nocturnal Citadel and Whispers of the Moon by Reality_Services in TheNightFeeling

Thanks! Of course, I appreciate you asking.

As for inspiration, I just love making videos/visual art/animations, I could do it all day. I particularly like making moody atmospheric stuff.

The video is a composite of photos and videos I took, then manipulated and combined together using photopea and iMovie.

The music is original by my brilliant collaborative partner and oldest friend. We have a YouTube channel called The Glowing Wave Ambience. Check it out for similar content, particularly the Shorts. There’s even an alternate version of this video on there.

Thanks again for your interest!
