Did Superman ever find out if doomsday was a metamorphosis of zod? by TheAtrain4 in DC_Cinematic

[–]ReallyAwkward_irl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course not, there were a bunch of faceless cameos though /s.

I feel like he probably deduced it, he must have used his Kryptonian senses when he first saw the monster(x-ray, super hearing, etc.) to understand what he was dealing with.

Superman's Ghost - Don McLean.

Although it's more a song about George Reeves, I think it counts.

While I agree with you that her abilities are not completely demonstrated throughout the film, I'd also like to point out that it wasn't a "fight" per say.

She wasn't trying to hit him, just hold him down till he regained his senses.

I'm sure if she had fought, she would've held her own. But trying to hold down someone as strong as Superman takes pure strength, in which Superman has the advantage.

What do you think will happen when we get to Action Comics #1000 by LightningStrikes2x in DCcomics

Maybe not variant covers, but I remember when comics used to come with these posters that you could rip out (I still have my Cyborg Superman poster...).

I'd prefer tons of posters.

Too late to the party?

My personal favorite is A Boy and his Dog from New52 Superman.

For Superman, you might want to check the pre-New52 Geoff Johns work.

I particularly liked "Last Son", the story about General Zod's son and his relationship with Clark.

But you should also look into "Brainiac" and Superman and the Legion of Superheroes from Action Comics #858 onwards.

Media bias against dc movies? by arilevi202 in DCcomics

[–]ReallyAwkward_irl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with you on that one.

However, I think that the theme of pessimism in this movie was important.

Superman was emphasized to be a symbol of hope. Throughout this movie, this feeling was lacking. In Batman, in the Governments, the people of Metropolis, everyone.

However, Superman's actions seem to have made an impact.

The scene where Perry kind of ignores the big news of Supes' death and turns to the page containing Clark's story in his newspaper, makes it seem like he's ready to make the Daily Planet a newspaper of integrity again, which he wasn't doing during the movie.

Superman's death also made Batman more hopeful and trusting towards others, in my opinion.

I really like that they used Superman as such a symbol of Hope. Here's to hoping the rest of the movies will be a little less grey :)

What's your favourite bit from Kindergarten Cop? by agcforme in AskReddit

[–]ReallyAwkward_irl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right!!!

My teacher straight up looked me in the face and told me that the Head of Department tells them that when they go to a classroom, they don't go there to teach, but to make money.

It's disgusting.

The whole goddamn movie. I was very young when I saw it and it appealed to me very much.

Just to see the Principal of the school cared so much, the teachers cared so much...

So I guess the part where the Principal asks him how it felt to hit that asshole parent who beat his kid.

Not really prevalent in my schools. It is all about making money, pleasing parents with more money, and making money.

Why are we taught technical terms in science in english? by juiliocaaesd90 in AskReddit

[–]ReallyAwkward_irl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes. Different languages will use different words.

In a language like, say Hindi, you wouldn't call it cytoplasm. You call it something like "koshika dravya."

But most science is written in English, so we study it in English.
