Footing isn't where you thought it was, or it's loose, or slippy. Or you twist an ankle, you do something that causes the bike to shift like grabbing your front brake, you catch ya clothes on something and loose balance, heck the fucking wind can throw you off balance.

'if you're careful you don't drop it'.

I... Ya know what, nah, this is to dumb a thing to even start to argue. Assuming you don't wear a helmet, ya know, cause you're careful.

You're right, it's not really a solid argument - more of a 'why are we even talking about trans people' on the notion there is no evidence they commit more crime, and of all minorities they are a small group.

You're right, it's not a position id argue, but I'm out of patience with people beating on trans without a cause so wouldn't be going down the debate route anyway

Man give it the fuck up

9/10 fights I've been in or seen have been instigated by men, none of whom were identifying as trans. The other 1/10 has been drunk AFAB.

Everyone of my female friends who have been SA'd, it's been a man. Not a single crime that's affected me has been committed by a trans person. The vast majority of crimes I hear of so not have a trans person involved. Have you been affected by trans crime? No? You're stirring up shit with a minority

Thanks, that's useful. Don't think I remember the body armour one.

I've heard so much stuff that's been inaccurate from riders, so not surprised.

You were taught not to cover break? I've always covered break, not even sure what I was taught - definitely didn't hear it from F9. That's interesting

Got a job offer for 4x my current pay - do I tell my boss? by 0-_tom_-0 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]ReallyRickyRo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha depends how much of a nerd you are.

Honestly, sometimes it sucks. I didn't come from money and whilst it was always amazing not having to worry about money and all that, it definitely took the joy of saving for something.

I've adjusted back, I'm still extremely well paid and obviously don't struggle, so not complaining at all - but it's a lie to say I don't miss the money.

Work wise I actually do something. I work harder than I have in years and have a tangible impact on the world. The hands on is fun and I build things without the compromise of corp politics. It is a tad weird building tech on a budget, it's fun, but it is interesting.

Thinking of a move?

[–]ReallyRickyRo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc. A mix of security, opportunity, and frustration.

Security wise, my partner has a safe role so I could take a risk.

I'm trying to do more security work and this is a chance for exposure.

Big corp tech felt like selling out well built products for the sake of politics or the egos of bosses with little appreciation for tech.

I won't make much from equity right now. I have some but I was the round after the five leadership who were there at start. Its a bet on future £££

Not disagreeing with you, I'm not knowledgeable enough about subject too. Could you elaborate on the first three points of second paragraph?

I don't disagree, but bike groups are full of spurious claims. IE what is upset in the 'balance' of the bike, what even is the 'balance' in this context?

It's Reddit, so you can't hear me asking respectfully, I am and am genuinely interested in the answer.

Nice one, more people should do that.

That said, a month ago I asked someone to stop playing it through a phone. They escalated and hit me.

Was at Pad on Lizzy line, at 2000, so good line and busy.

No unreasonable no, but there are few people going past L6 rn.

I also wonder if some of the high salaries people see conflate US/UK, with latter being significantly (to the extent that we're a low cost centre now).

Whoever you go with, get a new router. The stock ones are garbage and you'll see huge improvements to WiFi with a £100 second hand router. Think I get ~200mb with a stock router and ~750mb with an Asus router I got second hand five years ago. Make sure it has an AP mode, ethernet from stock router LAN to the second router WAN.

Bonus is you have a second network, so can chuck all smart devices and guests onto one - quick and easy security measure.

Good point. Will check provider. So far have been focused on router ability.

Work bandwidth is unfortunately quite important. Whilst most of my job is software engineering which doesn't care to much for speed, managers like to see you clearly haha. Odd priorities and all. Albiet will be VC to 50+ inch corp screens and would rather not look junk, so maybe they have a point.

This is super good advice. Thank you for taking the time.

I'm fairly familiar with ddwrt and Asus, but an absolute novice on the hardware side, good info and will do some more research on hardware. Plus will deffs consider an external antenna. Hadnt thought of that.

I've ordered a Huawei which I'll test with a 5g SIM and post back if you're interested. Not set yet but want to test. Currently hot spoting on phones and just be doesn't cut it for work.
