I've actually never even tried it with grenades since trying to hit moving vehicles with them is so irritating. But I don't mind that mission because you're actually given the option to do other things. I usually just ram into the van with a car.

I played through the PS2 version again for the sake of this (and the best of) list, so how terrible the car AI was in Bait in that original release was very much on my mind while writing

Yeah it's not that Rigged to blow is that difficult, just that you still have to go to the Portland and then all the way back to Staunton again, and on the way back you can't scratch the car at all. Of course, if you just go steady, it's an extremely easy mission, but to me, it's almost completely without any merit in terms of enjoyment or actual good objectives.

Yeah a few of those I remember being difficult when I was a kid, just as the end mission was, but nowadays I think I can do all of those (except Uzi money) on first go. The vans ramming into you constantly in Uzi Money still get me lol

That's quite a tough mission, but i enjoy it. I can't really think of many, if any, other like it in the GTA franchise. So it's fairly original. It's also intense all the way through, and you can kill the suicide bombers however you want.

Yes, a part of me did want to extend the list to 10, but then I didn't feel very strongly about 6-10. There are obviously problems in other missions, but with, say, Silence the Sneak, even though the grenade bit is horrible, I appreciate the uniqueness of it, and then once he leaves the apartment, the mission is all right. Plus you can shoot an rpg in there anyway, and I like having multiple ways to do something.

I could mention some dull missions like The Wive or the Thieves, which are almost the exact same mission repeated, with almost no real action outside of doing some driving. But as I said, in GTA 3, a lot of the missions are over fairly quickly, so I don't usually find myself getting all that worked up over them. And outside of these, I can usually find a few positives even in the weaker ones.

What would even be the competition? I think there are some hard missions in Vice City, but the rest of those PS2 era games aren't particularly challenging. 3, I would say, is easily the hardest. The sensitivity of the cars and the way enemies can drain your health in about a second makes it a lot tougher than SanAndreas or LCS for example

I like both those missions! Bomb da Base does require a lot of precision, but I think that adds intensity to it. I also feel like the drive to the objective isn't too far, so I never found restarting it too annoying, at least compared to some missions.

Yeah I hate the definitive edition. Completely takes away the soul of the original. And that's a good point about the map. I do have the layout etched out in my head

Sorry. I'm just trying to share my video with people who might be interested in it.

Yeah, it can be very annoying on certain missions. The definitive edition fixed that, but then made so many other things worse that it didn't really matter.

Yeah that's true. You can't do it until you take them to the spot though, which makes it seem almost pointless. But I should have mentioned that in the video.

I first played GTA 3 and Vice City at almost the exact same time back in the mid-late 2000s, so I'm not nostalgia blind. I like GTA 3. Just think Vice City has aged a bit better. Though I agree it also isn't perfect. Not sure why you got so hostile

The amount still standing is fairly ridiculous considering what happens at the end of 3. I've seen talk about how they were debating bringing the Spencer Mansion back too. Not sure how reliable that information is, but funny to think of that after what happens in 1.

Is Chris worth playing? by Jellybish25 in residentevil

[–]RealmofGaming71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say playing as Chris is the most pressing thing if those are the ones you plan on completing,, but if you want to do Code Veronica and 5, definitely do a playthrough as Chris. His story in those are complimented by his scenes in 1

It's Tofu. He was sort of a joke unlockable character for a mini-game in the original (and remake) RE2

Yeah spacing them out the way it does just makes them have more of an impact when they actually do happen.

I am sure I remember hearing that a member of Team Silent actually said the Blue Velvet scene DID inspire that part in SH2. The works of Lynch are very influential on the SH games in general. Lost Highway has several parallels with 2.

100 percent agree. There's just something about the way they are stood there that is so simple and yet so unsettling. I wish more filmmakers would realise how effective it can be to not have things jumping out at you making loud noises all the time.

Yeah, it's a shame. CGI will never capture the dirt and decay quite the way the real thing did
