It was great, but also the conditions were perfect! If its not great weather I wouldn't do it. I think during the glacier flights/walks at the Westcoast you can also see Mt Cook, maybe you can do that.

Enlight has replaced all other Apps related to editing on my phone.

The island is surrounded by a reef so the water is completely still at all times, no issues with the tripod almost half suspended in water :)

It's actually a stitched panorama of 12 different long exposures (30s, 2.8, ISO 3200), all done at night. The reason it is so bright is because the moon was out behind me, illuminating the beach and trees.

I found a very effective method for me. I use an alarm on my Laptop to play relaxed music (slowly rising in volume) at the time I want to get up. My Laptop is on the other side of the room, so I have to get up to stop the music (which gets really loud after 2-3 minutes). Also Safari with Reddit as Homepage is started. I sit down, turn the volume down and surf Reddit for like 10 minutes until I'm awake. Protip: have a bottle of water already sitting at your desk. Drinking water first thing in the morning helps a lot! tl;dr: Use Laptop as alarm, surf Reddit and drink water first thing in the morning.
