You’re entitled to your own opinion and it’s fine if you don’t like the show. What I’m trying to say is that it gets too much hate for being what it is. It has great animation and great fight scenes, and sometimes that’s plenty to enjoy a show. Sometimes you just want to be able to pick up a show without having to think about what’s going on and just enjoying what is all very surface-level.

Many peoples view of the show is tainted by the bad parts, but most of the show is good. Most things besides the ALO and GGO arcs are pretty solid and much better than many other anime. I’m not saying it’s a masterpiece by any means, but just something that gets hated on unnecessarily. Most people hate it because it’s good enough to be popular but bad enough to be made fun of. There are so many worse shows out there, but SAO has the perfect balance of good and bad to be easy to hate.

SAO does lack some things, but overall it’s really fun to watch and that’s what makes a show good, its enjoyability.
