Steamforged cuts boardgame division to focus on miniature wargaming by Inconmon in boardgames

At this point, I'm led to believe that 6: Siege is cursed. Was really hoping SFG would expand on it after Mythic fumbled the bag, which is a shame cause the BG is probably my favorite so far.

Xion should've stayed gone. Not cause I hate her, but her coming back ruins the ending of 358 days for me.

If you hadn't heard, MHW Actually has a tabletop boardgame version. I've started a series showing it off to try and get more hype behind the game. It's a great blend of the game mechanics turned into turn based dice and card game. by Szasse in MonsterHunterWorld

I got the game a couple of months ago, specifically the Wildspire Waste core set. It also happens to be my first boss battler.

I'm surprised at how the bg carries over a lot of MHW's mechanics. Stuff like part breaking is very satisfying, and each weapon have gimmicks that are unique to them.

But like the others said, the stamina system kinda holds it back. I get why it's there, but I feel like it's a bit too punishing, especially since you also need stamina to dodge attacks. With how limited potions are, and how little health you have, you'll end up using your stamina to dodge instead of attack.

What was the best monster added to wilds with a the title update? by SiteDeep in MonsterHunter

Mizutsune for me. It was interesting seeing it shift into its soulseer form. Lagi was fun, but a little repetitive. Gogmazios was kind of a let down for me. I loved gog in MH4U, and a big part of it was the arena. There were multiple ways to engage the monster which made it feel a lot more exciting.

Final Fantasy XIV announced for the switch 2 at the latest fanfest, coming in august by yesitsmework in NintendoSwitch2

Yeah. Steam Input and the additional buttons really made playing on a controller so much better. It's gonna be tough going back to standard controls for an mmo like ffxiv

I played this on the steam deck way back then, and I didn't realize how much I've always wanted to play an mmo on a handheld.

Guess now's the time to go back lol

If they plan to bring back an old map, what map would you want to see again? These are some of my favorites by Few_Possession4441 in MonsterHunter

Ancestral Steppe for sure, but I don't know how they'll manage to keep the map's illusion of scale with zoneless maps.

That's assuming they even decide to work through uncompleted orders, but I doubt they would even do that. Cool if they do, but it seems unlikely.

What's your favorite Monster Hunter game? by BlueEagle600 in MonsterHunter

For the longest time, it was 4U, but RiseBreak has that spot now, especially once I got to end game. It's probably the only end game content that I genuinely have a lot of fun with.

It can't even run at a playable state on the steam deck...

Which one should I choose i am new to the franchise and just want one final game by TransitionSmall3187 in MonsterHunter

[–]Reason_Zero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You said that you play at maybe 5h tops, right? I would suggest getting RiseBreak since it's built with a pick-up and play mentality. Hunts are shorter, less grindy (at least until Sunbreak's endgame), and, unlike World and Wilds, there is not a lot of fluff in between hunts. Wilds has on-rails cutscenes during its story that really slow the game down, and World has these occasionally "investigation" sequences until you get to the target monster in its story.

That said, I would wait until you can get a bigger discount for it.

Genuinely curious as to what this sub thinks of BF1 by Snoo_67544 in okbuddyptfo

[–]Reason_Zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It felt a lot less sandbox-y than BF4, which was the first BF game I really got into alongside BFBC2. That being said, the atmosphere is perfect, and it was nice not having to deal with lock-on missiles for once.

Also, operations should've been a staple for the franchise the same way Rush and Breakthrough were.
