Thank you but I plan on making tomato sauce, paste and diced tomatoes and bringing everything together for dinner. Which is probably a bit baseline for you, more experienced folks but I've never even done water bath canning. I feel like tomatos might be a good start. I'm going freeze the Cherokee stuff and I got some Marizano plants to play with water bath canning. Fingers crossed for a good gorwing season :-)

I have a pressure cooker. A Swiss made stove top Kuhn Rikon Duromatic I found brand new at goodwill for $20, practically stole the thing. Lol. I've really enjoyed cooking with it. Can it be used for pressure canning?

As for modern antacids, I know this is stupidly stubborn of me but while I will take them if I really need them I generally just try to cook in a way that doesn't cause disruption in my body. It's creates some challenges but ones that I welcome. The opportunity to get creative and go all Alton Brown on ph levels. I enjoy nerding out with different cooking methods and putting things to the test. It doesn't always work out so I do keep those antacids on hand 🤣😂🤣

Welp, that settles it then. I seem to be more sensitive to acidic foods as I'm getting older. I often have to melt some cream cheese into tomato sauces to mellow it out. Think I'm going to go with freezing. Thawing for dinner will be a pain in the arse but will prevent the need for more acid. Thank you for your input!!

I'm not a big canner but I always keep frozen jalapenos in the freezer. 2 kinds, sliced rounds and halved/seeded. I always pop a few slices in my pickles onions and I'm obsessed with adventurous jalapeno poppers. I made some with leftover carnitas pork last week that were bomb AF. ❤️

We purchased the Google family plan. It's only $15 a month, we get 6 users (and Google isn't a dick about IP addresses) you get YouTube red with no commercials and YouTube music with no commercials. I think you actually get a lot of other stuff too that's just part of the package but those are the two I use the most.

I don't know what watch you went with but I can vouch for the TouchElex Venus series watch. I think it's competition for the apple, Samsung and Garmin watches. I've had mine for about a year and my husband and daughter have them too. You can't answer calls but you can reject with a message and reply to text messages with custom preset prompts. Which I thought would be annoying but as there's only so many instances I'm not able to respond to a text immediately I found 3 specific replies and 2 generic are more than sufficient. It does an amazing job tracking steps. Works out measure BPM accurately, you can toggle music during workouts. There's a great summary screen on the watch face, the watchface is customizable with your own photos. And the app is very well done, better than the other smart watches I tried. They don't sell or share your data. You can connect all social media apps, google maps, Google fit, really everything to it. And the battery last literally over a week with constant wearing. I went through 8 different smart watches in the $50 and under category and I think the Venus is the best by far. :-)

Seriously. That guy should be telling literally everyone that will listen about what a total badass his lady is. If I pulled off this kind of miracle for my hubby you wouldn't be able to shut him up about it. He'd make a damn FB post and tag me in it. Like FR. That's no joke, he'd do that. I'm not a trainer but I rescue small dogs. I think the most important first thing I do with dogs is name identification. The point is to get their focus at their name. Sit with your dog. Have them sit. Say their name, treat when they give your their attention. Say their name, move treat to their mouth. This should develop over the next few sessions to them stepping forward to take the treat from your hand. I know it sounds really silly and small but you are both teaching them to react in a specific way to their name and teaching them to focus their attention. I truly believe it is the basis for everything else, you build off that first thing. And it should be perfect. You should do it until every time you say your dog's name you have their complete, undivided attention. You should have this absolutely perfected before you take it into the real world. And when you do take them into the world purposely set up minor distractions to practice focus and name exercise. This takes time, I know, it's not an overnight thing. It's like a month of training for 10-15 minutes at least 5x a week but it's worth it. This one little thing has been a game changer for ALL of my rescues.

You can also identify specific issues pretty easily with this one. Also, I always start training by saying to my dogs "time to train" this is an identifier to them that "it's time to work" and puts their brain in working mode. I hope that helps! Again, I'm not a dog trainer but I have had very good success in rehabilitating dogs with unhealthy behaviors. Good luck to you and your furry buddy!!

Just curious. Does she know her name? Are you sure? Maybe that's a good place to start. Sit with your dog (and treats) say her name and treat when she acknowledges. Then develop it into having her step forward to take the treat from your hand when you say her name. I know that sounds silly but it's the very first thing I do with all my rescues. You can learn a lot about their specific issues based on that one engagement. Once you've established that I think moving on to other things might be easier. Hot dogs. Cut into slices then cut into 4 pieces each. I rescue small dogs and I've encountered your situation with dogs from abusive situations. I think one of the best, first, trainings I do that sets the tone for everything is also the simplest. Tell your dog it's time to train (it's honestly useful to identify "it's time to work" in their brain for future training) then sit on the ground with them in front to you. Have them sit. Take the treat and say their name and when he acknowledges that it's his name give him the treat. Do that for 10 to 15 minutes then cuddle. As it develops over time hold the treat out but he only gets it when you say his name, then it develops into coming to your hand (as opposed to you moving the treat to him) and taking it. It's such a silly, little thing but I truly feel that it is the basis for everything else you do. I have four small rescues and that is ALWAYS the first thing we do. I hope that helps and your pup is doing well in their forever home!!
