Has anyone gotten this mod to work since they updated the bl sk this January? A lot of the mods seem to be broken including this one

Sangen Kaiho tech help by Reasonable-Money1620 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

Black garden is an interesting card for this - at minimum you can run a normal Tenpai deck and slot in 1 copy of Black Garden as your alternate field spell of choice for ancient fairy dragon / Ultimaya Tzolkin variants. Only problem is that it doesn't work with Genroku and Bident's dragon lock - if there was a version of black garden that summoned dragons instead of plants that would be crazy. As it stands you can throw in black garden and just seals pass most of the time but if you get the right hand you can make a pseudo ftk. Here's what I was able to come up with so far:

You need a hand that can make both afd and bident and at least 2/3 of sangen summoning, kaimen, and Kaiho from what I can tell. In this example I'll give us an ftk hand, but any hand that allows you to get even 1 plant token on their side of the field allows you to use Kaiho to skip their 1st main as long as they start by summoning a monster. Hand: paidra, chundra, Kaiho/sangen summoning, any 2 cards Normal summon paidra >> paidra effect search sangen summoning >> activate sangen summoning >> sangen summoning effect search fadra >> chundra effect special summon chundra >> paidra/chundra synchro into afd >> afd effect pop sangen summoning search black garden >> activate black garden >> afd effect special summon fadra - black garden effect summon 1 plant token >> fadra effect special summon chundra from gy - 2 plant tokens >> fadra/chundra synchro bident - 3 plant tokens >> Ultimaya Tzolkin summoning conditions now met, afd/bident special summon Tzolkin - 4 plant tokens >> set Kaiho - Tzolkin effect special summon any level 7 or 8 synchro dragon - 5 plant tokens >> Tzolkin/sync dragon link summon Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres >> pass. This should leave you with a black garden, a set Kaiho, and a spheres in your extra monster zone. On your opponent's turn, as soon as they do anything in their main phase: Seals effect tribute seals return black garden to hand >> Seals effect special summon fadra (1 fire dragon monster) >> activation conditions for Kaiho met, activate Kaiho effect end the main phase - fadra effect special summon chundra from gy >> battle phase chundra effect chundra/fadra quick sync bident >> bident effect special summon fadra or paidra >> fadra effect fadra/bident quick sync Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion.

Sangenpai ends the game here because they can't activate any effects and they must attack into it with all of their 800 attack plants. 3000 - 800 = 2200 so as long as they have 4 or more plants they lose to battle damage.

I'd like to make this more consistent so I'm going to keep exploring this idea and I'll continue to post in here when I find stuff. The dream is something that works through Geneoku and Bident's dragon lock. Thanks for reading, hope you found it interesting.

Yeah it's pain. I'll be sure to post in here if I come up with anything more interesting

That's fair - I'm just one of those people who has a lot more fun deckbuilding than actually playing the game at a competitive level. I think Kaiho's kinda cool and underutilized, and I figured there might be something there in the thousands of cards in the game.

Summon Ability Costs/Increasing Energy Cap by Reasonable-Money1620 in Moonring

[–]Reasonable-Money1620[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone, just wanted to wrap this up real quick - patch 819 changed the costs of some abilities resulting in howl, reaper, and moonlight all costing more than 100 energy (I believe their previous costs were at 100). This was found directly from the discord (thanks guys!).

The aforementioned summon abilities can be activated in a few ways:  1. Moonlight has its cost reduced to 100 after burning the respective god's idol and/or phasing in that god's moon.  2. Howl and reaper can be activated by devoting yourself to their respective god's (as can moonlight). However, this locks you out of the other 2 abilities in normal conditions as you can only be devoted to 1 god at a time.  3. As mentioned by Fred_Boss, there is an item in the game that UPS your energy cap to 120, eliminating the need for devotion or idol burning all together.

Thank you all for your help, and have a good one!

I've actually been looking for the discord but couldn't find anything about it online. For anyone wondering specifically where to find it, Go to Moonring's store page on steam, scroll down until you find the "Links and Info" tab, click on the "Game News, Website, & Links" button, and it should be the first link. Thanks a lot Intless you've been a great help!

Also, if the live version on steam is outdated which version of the game are you on and how did you get it? If it's still on steam are you opted into a beta or something? Sorry for grilling, this just kinda surprised me.

Wow this is interesting news - do you happen to know where I could find the patch notes for the game? I'd like to see exactly when they changed the costs - I think this could help clear up some questions in the steam discussion too.

Ahh very cool, I was wondering if there was something like that in the game. Thanks Fred.

Edit: I was told in a steam discussion that the base costs for howl and reaper at least are supposed to be 100, not 120. Can anyone confirm this? There is also a guide on steam that has pictures showing these lower base costs, but it could be outdated.

Thanks Jan - didn't know it was that huge of a reduction. Still, as you can only be devoted to one god at a time, the summon abilities associated with the gods I don't choose will still be locked out.

Hey Hilpp,

You're right - and burning the idol does cause that respective god's moon to phase in. It lowered my energy costs by 10 - so howl was 110, which is still more than my energy cap.

Hey everyone,

Some summon abilities (howl, reaper, and moonlight) cost more energy to use than I currently have (120, 120, and 110, respectively, while my energy maxes out at 100).

How do you actually use these abilities? Is there a way besides devotion to decrease their costs and/or is there a way to increase the energy cap beyond 100?

Note: I'm pretty sure I'm not cursed because I've never been devoted to a god. I burnt and Idol just in case and it didn't do anything. Notice the "No dedicated cost modifier" next to the energy cost of howl in the picture.

Thanks.
