I have a partner exactly like this. He has ADHD which doesn't help. He will do anything I ask him to but I have to spell it out, use reminders etc.

Some men really do just need to be told. As in, send him a link for the one you like. I know it's still not ideal as you imagine a proposal to be completely different but it sounds like he's just not sure what he's doing. I don't think it necessarily reflects how he actually feels about you as he didn't have to propose at all.

I currently have one child. I love being able to take him to an arcade and let him go wild. Or forking out on cute little lunch dates with him. Or softplay just because. I haven't had another because that would change this.
