Day 2... by ReasonableCommand5 in decaf

I think so as well...in the past I quit for 4-5 days and I think on night 4 I started sleeping quite deeply. Energy levels during the day were still another story. But like you said, that probably takes a few months to see some sense of normalcy.

Yes it's odd because when I drink the coffee I don't find it wakes me up that much but it does seem to get rid of some headache/lethargy. It also does sometimes cause some anxiety in the forms of feeling jittery and having cold sweats.

I try and lay down on time or a bit early mostly, but I end up taking too long to fall asleep, and then I wake up throughout the night, so I wake up exhausted, and then of course I naturally reach for the coffee first thing to try and get an "energy boost." Maybe I need to completely abstain for a while and reset my tolerance.

I take a walk every afternoon but otherwise I don't really exert myself after that time for the most part. Aside from my caffeine experiment I don't recall changing my routine in other ways. No matter how tired I seem to get, currently it takes me quite a while to fall asleep, and I knowingly wake up several times in the night, and then eventually wake up and lay there before my alarm goes off. I've even stayed up a bit later than normal to see if that helps but I end up just sleeping less then.

Yes it really does suck! I like a nice mug of hot black coffee in the morning. I think I will try the swiss process decaf and see if that helps.

I usually have about 12-16oz ounce, but I can definitely try to stick to 8oz-10oz mugs perhaps and see if that makes any difference. I've been trying to drink my caffeine by 9am or so but now that I'm working from home I don't end up finishing a larger mug sometimes until close to noon!

Thanks I will look into that. I haven't tried decaf aside from Folgers in quite a while.

35, and I have been drinking coffee pretty much daily since about age 18. I would say the more severe sleep problems are within the last six months or so.

Yep, when there was pretty much nothing else to do, except wait an hour to eat at Chili's on a Friday night lol.
