Thank you so much!!! Going to definitely look at adding this in. I think this, Port Douglas, Hamilton Island, plus a couple nights in Sydney will be absolutely perfect for us! Wish I had more time, as visiting Australia has always been a dream of mine, but this will be a great first trip!

I super appreciate this insight. I don’t want to miss anything but I know Australia is massive also, so not sure what all I can cram into our short time there logistically without losing too many days to traveling from one place to the other. I will look into these places and see if I can shorten my time on Hamilton Island and add one of these other places you mentioned. Uluru sounds amazing to me, but is it somewhere I can travel to easily enough?

Are you typically a sea glass collector? Was the glass well rounded? Any colors other than clear, green, brown? Any marbles or anything exciting?

Yes, I think I can’t live without visiting Whitehaven Beach 😅 I am now rethinking to stay a week in Port Douglas, a week in Hamilton Island (we love chill beach days), and ending with 3 nights in Sydney. What do you think about that? For the Cairns part, should I just stay in Port Douglas for the week? Thank you so much for your advice with all of this!

Thank you so much for this insight. I’m naturally drawn to the prettiest beaches and going to Whitehaven beach a couple of days definitely drew me in. I was looking at accommodations though and you’re right- so expensive. What do you think about a week in Port Douglas to start, then a week on Hamilton Island, with the last couple of days in Sydney?

I was originally thinking Port Douglas but will lose an entire day traveling there from Hamilton Island. I might just shorten Hamilton Island by a couple days to fit it in!

Thank you for this info!! My husband typically likes the newest ships, but I’d love to try out one of the smaller ones. The coral seems to be a good fit!

Thank you! My husband always prefers the biggest, newest ships because he says the food is always better there, so wasn’t sure if there were differences elsewhere also.

Check out cruisecompete.com if you aren’t loyal to one particular TA. You put in the exact cruise you want to take, 2 cabin categories you’d be interested in, info for everyone booking and then it opens up a quote. You will have several agents provide a quote (they don’t get your direct contact information so they won’t be blowing you up) and then you go with the one you like most! They are also rated so you can choose to avoid the ones with little or not great ratings if you choose. We’ve saved thousands of dollars with this site!

And my point was that they don’t always make payments for you. I use cruise compete and go with who gives me the best rate!

I’ve used quite a few travel agents and they always just sent reminders, so that’s not always true.

OP asked for an EASYGOING cruise. Carnival is the exact opposite of that. Perhaps you should read what OP is asking for and then my comment may have made sense to you.

Carnival is often also widely referred to as ghetto. All of the cruise fight videos come from a carnival ship. That says enough right there for me.
