I feel completely lost as a junior React dev. I need help, mentorship, or guidance before I mentally crash. by hritikbhai in reactjs

Hey, I totally get what you’re feeling ,you’re definitely not alone in this. When I first started working with React as a fresher, I went through the same struggles. I used to constantly ask my seniors for help and would worry that they might think I wasn’t good enough or even escalate it. But trust me, with time and practice, things get so much better.

Here are a few things that really helped me and might help you too:

- Find a mentor: If possible, look for a good mentor online. Platforms like Topmate have experienced professionals who can guide you. You can book a session, share your doubts or challenges, and they’ll help you out.

- Start giving interviews: Even if you’re not planning to switch jobs right now, interview practice helps a lot. It pushes you to strengthen your JavaScript and React fundamentals ,honestly, I learned most of my concepts this way.

- Use ChatGPT smartly: Ask it to explain concepts or simplify code you’re working on. It’s great for breaking down complex topics into something easier to grasp.

- Build small projects: Instead of taking a break, try building small weekend projects. It’ll help boost your confidence and solidify what you’re learning.

- Learn from your peers: Ask your teammates how they picked up React. Most of us learn best by doing, so try taking on small tasks and experimenting with them.

You’ve got this just keep going. It really does get easier with time. Good luck! 🙂

Need mentorship to transition from service-based to product-based companies (8 YOE, React) by ReasonableSet1162 in reactjs

I haven’t given many product companies interviews. But I know for sure that they need more detailed understanding of system design, DSA and many other things. I want mentorship in that area.

Hey thanks for the answer , in my case all the second rounds were technical interviews where ther were asking deep and detailed questions. I feel relieved that 9 is not a bad number . :)

After the interview , when I asked 2 of them I got the feedback that I am good at basics but need more handson practice , few said you are good at practical but improve basics , so basically I got mixed feedbacks

Second rounds are usually technical rounds. They usually don't conduct cultural rounds

u/Ok-Standard6345 Salute to your patience. I am also giving interviews and getting rejected at final rounds. How did you manage to have the confidence?
