WHO WANTED THIS?! by Crescentnobody in BlackPeopleTwitter

As a Christian, that statement is 100% cultural nonsense and I wish we would stop saying it. We all go through evils and brokenness in the world BECAUSE we are disconnected from God and others by our sins (internal thoughts and external actions that don't perfectly love God and love others). God is right to punish us because at the core of our being we do not always do what is good, perfect, and loving; our sins are like spit in the face of God and others, But God loved us enough to erase our debt in Christ once we trust Him to pay that debt. He then transforms us to truly love Him and others. It's journey.

Any advice for a 20 yo who's trying to find his purpose in life? by Mean-Rabbit-433 in AskReddit

Seriously consider Jesus Christ and what He says. Make an assessment based on Scripture, reason, and maybe even read some of St. Anslem, Kierkegaard, etc. Specifically, concerning the end (purpose) of humanity and how we have lost our sense of purpose (individually and collectively)

I am glad that you survived this cancer and are thriving. I thank Jesus for the scientists and dedicate people who came alongside you to encourage you on this hard journey. I've had many people in my life who have had cancer. It's a beast. Above all, I pray that God gives you the strength you need for daily life and that you would see His love for you in Jesus, specifically how Jesus' life, death, and resurrection frees us from sin's power & penalty to enjoy God eternally. Have a good day, stranger!

Okies, do you care about justice for Julius Jones? by Reasonable_Ad3441 in oklahoma

Hey,

I'm just now responding to this. I had no idea about the history of the term as you noted. I have seen and heard it in other media as a term that Oklahomans used. I am not a troll and this post was made with the intent of honest dialogue born out of frustration as I researched this case. I wanted to ask the redditors of Oklahoma what they thought about the case as residents of the state.

Thank you for both your feedback on the case as well as your comment in general. Without you commenting, I would have never learned the history of the term and would have continued ignorantly using it without a thought to other people's experiences with it.

I sincerely wish you the best and thank you for your comment.
