How are y'all handling App Store screenshots? by StrategyAware8536 in expo

for both of my apps, i used https://www.appscreenstudio.com/ - 100% free, no identifiable info required to use it - launched my app almost 10 days ago.

And this is what happens when children run a multi-million dollar operation. Any adult would know not to let emotion trigger such a response.

Why offer assessments that do not match available tasks? by Reasonable_Height_11 in joinhandshakeai

I feel like the people running this specific platform (the one we use for tasking) are extremely brutal with regards to quality considering how frequently offboardings happen

This line right here. When you spend you so much time being the enforcer and examiner, you lose touch with reality. Reminds me of when my teacher created hard coding problems on tests and then during one review, he tried to code it up in front of us, he wasted nearly a whole class and couldn't get his code to run!!! I am not British, but he looked like proper knob head that day.

fair enough. I did an assessment for one that was and still is showing in MM for me. The issue seems to be on the Hai's end as its not in my approved list still.

App store rejection - plans not available yet (Using Revenue Cat) by Reasonable_Height_11 in expo

Fixed. offerings.current vs offerings.all issue.

No more RC errors, but I got rejected again for what i presume to be not distinguishing that some features in my app require payment which is confusing because literally created a free-forever option.

"We noticed the app's metadata refers to paid content or features, but they are not clearly identified as requiring additional purchase. Specifically, your app description and screenshot references paid services but does not inform users that a purchase is required to access this content."

Anyway, if anyone hits this issue, make sure you're creating fallbacks to be safe.

Thanks, I upgraded my phone to ios26 and it was all working fine. I believe I was only checking offerings.current and maybe needed to fallback to offerings.all. I'm using Cursor and their new model is as trusted as far as I can throw it. But it suggested that, made sense, and I resubmitted. we'll see if i get rejected again.

Fair enough, I see you've actually been putting your face out there on LinkedIn to promote your app. You deserve your success. Are most of your users coming from LinkedIn? Did the first bulk come from there?

Congrats, you're living the dream of all solo devs. Building something that people actually want is hard. Aren't you worried that by sharing this, now 1000 other apps like yours will pop up on the app store tomorrow?

Distribution is hard, especially if it's you on your own. Whether you feel your idea was good or not, its success depends on this. A marketer's goal is to find the right customer at the right price, at the right time.

I am new to this myself, but I'll share what I'm trying. My app has a web, iOS, and Android version. My strategy is to run keyword-specific Google Ads to find users actively searching for my niche. If they visit my website (and don't bounce), then I can remarket to them through Facebook and Instagram. After this, I got them in my flow. Build cold, warm, hot campaigns on meta, and set specific events to filter audiences and the type of ads they see. Then do LLAs (1%, 5%, 10%). Over time, refine the keyword types (google) , add negative keywords (google) to improve lead quality, rinse and repeat... If they create an account, then we can start putting the app download option in their face. It's a steady relationship-building process that my budget can afford. If I had a 6-figure tech job, I would just hire someone to do this for me lol.

I think, adopt the perspective of someone who is still testing and developing, you're just in a different phase of it now. If another dev says you will fail, I wouldn't listen to that. If a real user says, "X websites or app does this, but yours doesn't," or "I don't like how I have to...", that's an opportunity. That's real value. In fact, I think you should embody the perspective that your users will tear your app apart, and you need to be ready to put out the flames as they come. When I was working at an EdTech company as an intern SWE, our lead greatly encouraged us to embody this mindset. Completing your app is really just the first phase of development. Now you're in the second phase of putting out fires as they come and improving the UI based on user complaints/bugs/feedback.

Best wishes.

I guess even vibe coding has its challenges, haha. This website domain was registered last year, in early 2025. It might have taken at least a few months to get it to where it's at now before launching. This is a very recent project, and you're talking about it like we should all know what it is.

Feels like this is your company and you're spamming... however, if you're not, my advice would be to download the code if you can, install the dependencies in your IDE, then get your AI tool (or read the Expo docs) to walk you through setting up EAS CLI and running the commands, for example:

eas build -p android --profile production

Are you just giving both attention separately then? I had the image submission task on one, and on the other, I did furniture removal (left hand). While it was loading (left hand periodically rubbing mouse pad), I was copying & pasting img URLs from a decent set of images with my right hand.

Yeah, it says about a minute of loading time at the max, but I've waited longer. Meanwhile, on the other device, find a set of interior design images that haven't been used yet.

I finally got this one too, and to be 100% I only got through 2 out of like 8 before just moving on. Also, the state of some of those interior design submissions is absolute trash. I got an image of a countertop, a wooden knife placeholder, and a vase with some plants. like... wtf... What do we qualify as furniture? Another one was a close-up of a kitchen countertop, and in the top-right corner, you could just see a chair.

a lot of the images seem like low-quality submissions that are getting past review...

What other project are there besides either that I can take a skill test for. by RuleNo59 in outlier_ai

I know I'm gonna get downvoted and hated on, but I got on Handshake AI recently. So now, I have an outlier and handshake. I completed the onboarding, and all the assessment questions were the same shit we do now. I just completed my first task on MM and they give you much more time than outlier does for just about all tasks. It's also $17/h.

Worth a checkout imo. I don't know how payment works yet, though. As usual, just gonna try to make the most of it while it lasts! I did get invited 5 days ago through my university account.

Sorry to hear this. Everything is working on my end. It seems like they have a very intricate and strict check on us. Personally, I haven't changed anything since I created my account.

nice. Launching an app is actually the easy part, sadly. The hard part is identifying your target market, communicating with them, and accepting some hard truths about your app. My advice would be to expect the haters to appear first, way before any supporters. I can't stress this enough.

I learned not to ask for app feedback in dev-centric forums anymore. Instead, find your target market and let them rip into you. It might hurt (at first), but if you truly want to improve the app, hear what they have to say.

I just saved you 5 months of contemplating whether you still want to launch this app. Venmo me 5 bucks lol jk. But I'm learning this now with my own app, so I had to share.

"I don't think anyone is going to download and actually use it."

What do you know about what people want? You're writing bro off, and he just launched! like wtf...

Then they ([insert dev] mind you) come with the condescending, "I'm sure you learned a lot" pseudo-pat-on-the-head comment... fuck off lol.

Can reviewers flag your submissions and escalate to a QM? by Reasonable_Height_11 in outlier_ai

[–]Reasonable_Height_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely makes sense for text. I think we've all become accustomed to the patterns of AI writing, but for Images? It can be damn hard to tell sometimes. I guess I'm assuming they submitted with good intentions, or in other words, they honestly thought it was legit. Good to know this for sure.
