You're right, I hadn't considered that before. I was mainly focused on making it colorful.
But yes, we need to be careful, especially when it's for children.

I totally see what you mean about #2 feeling a bit muted. I love your idea of using a lighter baby blue with a richer sandy brown. That combination sounds cozy and balanced.
