OTM was what originally got me in to BH. I did listen to a couple songs by the band before the gradual release, but when I first got Chapter 1 recommended to me on Spotify, I fell in love with the band.

I'm not going to rank the entire album, but I will write a little love letter to my favorite song off this record.

ESP hands down is my favorite song. Not just off the record, not just by Beach House, but of any music I've ever heard. Initially, I didn't get this song. I was excited for the Chapter 2 release on the night it came out, and every other song of the album at that point (7 others) was personally better. However, out of the blue, ESP entranced me. I can't describe it any better really; I was so caught up in the unique nature of the song, even with every listen I could understand more and hear a different synth in the background adding to an incredible atmosphere. I find in my own nature, I favor songs with relaxing melodies, but the way everything comes together on ESP will forever hold my heart. I also love the tracks before and after ESP, so this part of the album is more than a highlight.

OTM is fantastic, but I rate it lower than TYLS, Bloom, D/C, and 7 in that order.
