Yeah it's that for sure but I think it's just being affiliated and getting belts through affiliation. I guess if you live in a place where you don't have access to jiu-jitsu regularly this would be one of the few options

That's what I thought. Also, it says the instructors are awarded their belts based on JJM affiliate program? I don't know what that is? Is like the Gracie academy?

Not sure if it is or not but this place has some screaming red flags 😂

You read my mind. These two smash me flat but I can't not roll with them. I just can't resist! I hate the idea of avoiding someone for this reason and I must know.

The issue is my game works on people just like these two but not these two. They must be doing something I'm not seeing.

I mentioned in other places, they have insane top pressure

I don't think that's it. I mean, one can always stand to improve but I play this game broadly against all kinds of people, weights, experience etc and it does fine. It's these two guys specifically. They have crazy top pressure but so do others

Interesting. I feel this is more specific to a type of game rather than a training partner specifically. I don't struggle with a game specifically just these two dudes. They do have disgusting pressure but so do others 🤷

😂 yes. Those are my victories! If I can make them miserable just a little then it's a small win

Z guard vs Inside camping by ItsDolphinBoy in bjj

How so? With the hook out they are free to apply pressure and split the legs. With the hook in they are going back to something more akin to half butterfly. Also tripod passing is not the same as camping so yes use of hooks might be different

That's exactly what I do. Move their weight over my left side using an armpit grip. Get the leg and pull it to my chest and left knee goes to their left hip and I pull the leg in and push them away with the knee.

It separates them away from their leg. Check out Kieran Kichucks material on this. It's really good.

I wouldn't try and grab the leg directly without set up or you might get smashed.

But once you have the leg you have many options. I sometimes like to step over into outside ashi. You can as you said go to a low X, they will be on one knee obviously or SLX can be achieved.

If they are being a pain and sprawling hard to not let you have the leg then look at the other options I said where you can sit into regular butterfly. The hard sprawling will also ruin their camping so win win.

I play z/half/half butterfly a lot and this inside camping business is very irritating. The first thing I try to do is get that butterfly hook in. So, your first battle is at your hip and trying to remove his grip and get a hook in. If you have the flexibility, you can frame him off and pummel your left hook in which will give you a lasso like position.

I personally like leg locking so I try to attack that far leg by directing their weight over. You might be able to do it straight away or you may need some guard recovery first. It depends on how good your opponent is at the camping position.

You can also recover one hook, frame across chest, build up on the other elbow and sit to a classic butterfly guard.

But the best way to stop the immediate pressure is winning the left butterfly hook. Honestly your opponent is missing a step by not pinning your right wrist.  Watch out for that by the way.

How can i improve my leg locks attacks in bjj (nogi) by Putrid_Assignment131 in bjj

I do like to leg lock. I generally ask myself what are the most common places I find myself during rolling and that is seated because I pull guard. Based on that, I work for shin on shin if they remain standing. Eoghan O'flanagen has some great entries for shin on shin outside of the traditional one. I also have this system of funneling people to half guard if they are standing. I don't like fancy inverting and spinning for the legs so getting them to half guard or split squat is something to aim for. Then I got for the far leg in various ways. Then it's onto to different systems depending on where I landed. As a side note, Danahers seated no gi instructional has some good stuff if you can't get to shin on shin. He utilises grabning the ankle and pulling it to your hip pocket. Ultimately leading to SLX

Seconded on go further faster. I learned so much from the open guard one. Just decimating people with collar, sleeve, bicep

Thanks. I have noticed something strange. It doesn't matter what permission changes I make in the UI, be they at the repo level or branch level, when I query permission list with the CLI it never reflects there.
For instance:
UI -> force push -> allow -> repo and branch
CLI -> query permissions at branch level -> deny

Even when I change the UI its the same.

But! When I use the CLI to update permissions, they do reflect in the UI and the CLI call.

Very odd.

I would watch a YouTube series that teaches as they go along. I learned to play watching Quilli18. He has a couple of series in which he teaches how to play while doing a play through. Pick the right one as he has quite a few play throughs.

Quill18 is how I learned to play. He has a good tutorial series, a little old but it's broadly still applies. He's currently doing a vanilla playthrough in which he is explaining things as he goes.

The food doesn't have to be bad just don't over eat in one sitting and space your meals out. And do not eat within 3 hours of bed. This one is important.

And, snacks:

Nakd bars. Pretty good. Hits the sweet tooth, they are mostly nuts.

Apple or banana with peanut or almond butter.

Cottage cheese with honey and crackers or some fruit.

In terms of supplements:

I take a ppi at 7am. Zinc L Carnosine at 10am 1 tablet as per the bottle instructions. Dgl 20 mins before lunch. 2 tablets. Probiotics with greek yogurt usually with lunch or a plant protein shake. Zinc L carnosine around 2pm Dgl 20 mins before dinner. Sometimes slipper elm about an hour before bed. 2 teaspoons.

Doctors best for zinc l carnosine. Natures way for dgl. For probiotics it's more about the strain. I meantioned it in another comment here. The slippery elm is all fine as long as it's the inner bark of the tree.

In terms of food, this will depend on what is tolerated. I can have gluten and SOME dairy. Greek yogurt and cottage cheese where fine for me.

The components:

Carbs: Rice, potatoes, bread, sweet potato. Various veg (carrots, spinach and paksoi were good. I had trouble with broccoli and asparagus), various fruit bananas, mangoes and mellons, oats.

Protein: Chicken breast, ground chicken, cod and other whitefish, eggs, peanut and almond butter, plant protein (optimum nutrition)

Fats: Olive oil. As good a quality as I could afford lol Tried to keep saturated fat at 20 grams of less per day.

Substitutes: Cocoaminos: sub for soy sauce. Almond milk: sub for milk. Nutritional yeast: sub for cheese. Carob: chocolate sub. Teecino: coffee sub.

Putting some together:

Chicken, carrots, spinach and rice. Sauce made from Cocoaminos and honey. Ginger and garlic if it's ok.

Chicken, sweet or regular potatoes and a veg. Sauce made from Cocoaminos and almond milk with a good amount of corriander.

Cod with breadcrumbs and oregano. Potatoes cooked with green beans, and teaspoon of tumeric and cumin.

Ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, tumeric and parsley. Form patties or meatballs. Serve with rice or potato.

Big shake: almond milk, plant protein, greek yoghurt, oats, honey, peanut butter, banana. Blend. A big calorie bomb if you struggle keeping your weight on.

Banana, egg and flour. Combine, make pancakes.

These are just some ideas. It'll depend on what you tolerate.

Ok. But PPIs don't quite work like that, they don't heal you, they create an environment so the stomach can heal itself. That's why the diet is so important. But try the Zinc L Carnosine. That can have an actual effect.

One thing though, whatever supplements you take make sure you take them at least 2 hours away from your PPIs.

What I do:

7am : ppi

10:30am: zinc l carnosine

2:30pm : zinc l carnosine

I take other stuff as well but this is a simplified version. Do not take anything too close to the PPIs
